Wanting to take the wife and kids out for some good pizza on Friday night. Just wondering where to go. Has to be in or around the Chicagoland area. I am coming from the southwest side (New Lenox). I don't mind driving if the food is GOOD. Any recommendations, and locations/addresses?

I really like Lou Malnatis. I lived close (Aurora) to the naperville location but I just looked at their website and they are all over including Chicago. Best thing is that they ship so I even had their pizza while I lived in ND last year. Speaking of which I might order one.

I still think the original Aurelios in Homewood is the best pizza or food ever made. The other locations aren't the same though. I don't think that is considered Chicago style pizza.

I have been to Giordano's, but not Lou M. Is Lou M's really that good. I have heard good things, and bad things, but I am looking for some place that you can go to and just say "Now that was the best pizza I have ever had". Any small little local places even outside of chicago that people really like. We have a mom and pop place in town here and it is really good, but it gets old after time. Thanks for all the quick responses, I am starting to get hungry for pizza NOW, don't know if I can wait til friday. Keep em coming. We love going to new places and trying the food.

Thanks again

Lou's in Naperville is a good place to go to. We go there alot with my parents and my brothers kids. There can be a wait but they let you order your food so you are not sitting at your table too long. Another place I like is Vita Bellas in Plainfield. It has a small sitting area but the pizza is really good. But if taking the family go to Lou's.

Stay AWAY from Pizanos if you want good pizza....in fact their pasta and beef are not very good anymore either.

Lou's and Giordano's are my favorites.

Each has their differences to say one is that much better than the rest would never happen with me cuz one day a may want a paper thin cracker crust and a nuther day I may want thick pan of italian goodness buried under a layer of lightly browned monsterella...

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions

Thanks for all the input, I will talk to the wife and see where she wants to go. I am leaning towards Lou's right now, but everyone knows that my opinion is just that, an opinion, and hers is the answer. LOL

I have been to Lou's,Uno's,Gino's,Giordano's and Nancy's stuffed pizza. And you can't go wrong with any of them. But my pick of all time best is Gulliver's pan pizza 2727 Howard st. Chicago. Great just had lunch and now i'm hungry again.
