Best Chicagoland Pizza Place?

Bill's Pizza in Mundelein, hands down has the best thin crust in the world. And there double decker pizza is excellent too. Chicagoland tourist pizza is over-rated(Gino's,Lou's,Uno's)

Chicago - Pizzeria Uno
Far West Suburbs (Naperville/Aurora) - Al's Pizza (Warrenville) located in the same building as the Town Tap is by far the best.

Not sure if the place is still around but we used to get pizza for lunch from Johns pizza in Addison....it was fantastic....

Well we narrowed it down to 2. Lou's or Palermo's. Either way from what I am reading on here, we won't be disappointed. Haven't had a good pizza in a long time and can't wait to get there. Thanks for all of the different places that were mentioned, I am sure we are going to try and try them all.

So, 700 where did you guys go?

The wife brought home a Lou's half-baked for dinner last night. It was absolutley delicious. We just get pepperoni, and they cover the whole top with it. YUUMMMYYYY!!!!!

There is a Lou's carry out in in Tinley - it was one of the worst pizza's i ever had. Sure the main one's are better - they would have to be.

Enrico's is by far the best pizza I have ever had. Located in Frankfort Il

When Stubby Talks Here is proof

Is This the same Enrico family that had the enricos pizza in down town Elgin 30 years ago?
My first job was doing dishes for those folks!

I still think the original Aurelios in Homewood is the best pizza or food ever made. The other locations aren't the same though. I don't think that is considered Chicago style pizza.

I totally agree! My dad worked there as a young kid and evertime we visit Chicago we always eat there.

pizza

Grew up on the South side, now a mi. rez. Aurelios always has has great pies, but a few others that always were great was Sanfratellos in Glenwood, Bernettis in Harvey And Life Of riley in Hegewich both of these are now gone. I know everybody has personal choices but I have eatin at a lot of the big name places and it always seemed the mom and pop place always out did them. The Tribune and Suntimes used to always have a list of the ten best and it seemed that the "big names" almost never made the cut.

I have worked at several pizza places when i was younger( including Wayne's, Round Lake) and i think i know pizza..........Downtown i would say , Lou's than Giordanos..... Brick oven pizza is unique because the oven gets seasoned and has a better flavor than gas ovens........Lake County,....Rookies in Ingleside makes some real good pizzas, and they are half price on tuesday and thursday..that's right a $24 monster loaded pizza for $12 ! Fannellas make a great barbcue chicken with bacon pizza, half price on pizza, (not the toppings) on wednesdays...........And place that surprised the heck out of me was a little dumpy tavern off Grass Lake called the Mutiney, some of the most tasty pizza i have ever had! Rich sauce, realy cheesy cheese and these little bits and pieces of herbs and spices. Fellow member MrAmerica told me and i didnt believe him till i had it.

I think it just matters what you have a taste for sometimes thin sometimes thick. Well it maybe the only thing we can be proud of in Illinois is pizza.

We ended up going to lou's, and let me tell you it was AWESOME. We loved the atmosphere, the employees were great, and we will definitely will go there again and again. Thanks again for all the input and different places to try.
