Best Chicagoland Pizza Place?

There was a little neighborhood place. I think it was on Scheffield between Belmont and Diversey that had the best thin crust I have ever had. We used to order up the BBQ Chicken Pizza from this place and eat about half the pie before we even got back.

This was about 20 years ago, so it may not even be around any more, but an authentic Chicago neighborhood pizza place, with great pizza.

Sorry I forget the name!

If it was thin crust I believe its Pats Pizza that was on Scheffield they moved not far to Lincoln...

for thin crust, somebody already mentioned vito and nicks at 84th and pulaski, but they do have a full dining room. for tap beer your choices are old style or old style light, same as in the 70's. palermoes is nice as well the have a sweeter sauce which you either like or hate. for deep dish lou or nancys. enjoy your night out

I think Pat's was the name. It was in one of the old brownstones on the street, pretty much smack in the middle of a residential neighborhood.

Oven grinder on the north side was good stuff too...However, I will ad a disclaimer that they also have 24oz drafts so It could be I had too many of those and the food tasted good anyway..

Wanting to take the wife and kids out for some good pizza on Friday night. Just wondering where to go. Has to be in or around the Chicagoland area. I am coming from the southwest side (New Lenox). I don't mind driving if the food is GOOD. Any recommendations, and locations/addresses?

Amici's Clubhouse in S. Elgin. My very favorite thin crust!!!! The vodka sauce pasta is to die for as well.

Lou's as well. I like the one on the corner of Schaumburg road and Roselle road in Schaumburg. 2 stories and the best deep dish around imo.

spent the better part of a day downtown looking for Ginos a couple years back. Our GPS showed it in the wrong place and each person we asked told us to just head 2 blocks over. Got in the car and went to one of the other Ginos. Pizza was fine but it didnt make my top 10 list. Have to try some of the others on the list.

Lou's definately! + they have good beefs too. We also like Nancys, I have never seen a deep dish with more cheese than this....it's great.

Then again, just the other day I was downtown and saw a newer establishment named Pizza Hut. I went in and inquired as to where this pizza shop came from. To my surprise they told me there is almost one of these "Pizza Huts" on every neighborhood corner nowadays. Where have I been? Delicious! And they have wings too.......who knew?

I like Lou's, UNO's, and Bill's. I couple other's not mentioned is Wapaghetti's in Wheeling and Libertyville (check first before going as it's been a few years since I lived there). Another one I liked is in Morten Grove called Pequod's (sp?). I totally miss the Pizza and other food in Chicagoland and the best I can get here in Madison is Rosatti's! Good luck!

Pequods its all about that unique crust.

I neglected to mention the old skool Pequods, Nanos, or Barnabys dinner wheels cuz I wouldn't think anyone would of heard of them... So far I think there's only two wheel houses mentioned that I haven't been to yet...

Barnabys is good to, but I dont think that is chicago style? They got that different dough made of corn or something. But still good

Well we narrowed it down to 2. Lou's or Palermo's. Either way from what I am reading on here, we won't be disappointed. Haven't had a good pizza in a long time and can't wait to get there. Thanks for all of the different places that were mentioned, I am sure we are going to try and try them all.

They are all good but my opinion being I live here and have had them all including Uno, Due, Giordanos, Connie's, Ginos East etc., Lou Malnati's no doubt is the best. Find a location that works best for you from the website.
