We had about 3" on the ground before the snow last night...which totalled about 6". I went out grooming last night just as the snow was starting, hoping to pan down what we had so we could at least establish something of a base. It snowed hard about midnight, so hard that I couldn't even find the trail signs out ahead of me a few times. Some riders probably wondered today "what the **** the groomer operator was drinking last night". The snow was so heavy that it became very disorienting and mezmarizing. And, with the crop rotations and trails shifting each season, I got way the heck off course a couple times....Just no landmarks to go by out in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of a white out and in the dark. That was weird!!!!! Anyhooo, the snow that we got was so fluffy that it packed down to about 2". We got enough to open trails, but by Sunday they'll be junk already.
