No takers here,
If I added up all the 7 day periods we were projected to get 4-8 we'd have 50 plus inches of snow this year instead of the 15-20 inches we've gotten.

Im putting $50 on an inch or less for our area in the 5 to 10 day forecast. I dont believe it for 1 second.

You have a point there. Only profession in the world where you can get it wrong 50-60% of the time, and still have a job.

I wouldn't want their job or accountability but I'm still waiting for the below average temperature and above average snowfall that was predicted my many weather outlets this year, I haven't heard any commitment to any amounts yet this weekend just... accumulating snow possible, so if we get 1/2 " or 5" it accumulated and they were right. The last event we had when I left my shop it was 52 degrees out with rain changing to snow with an inch or less possible accumulation and woke up to 8" and 2 days later it was gone. We will probably get a blizzard in march will be gone in a week and they will have been right. Again.... I wouldn't want their job but Ill just look out my window sunday morning and we got what we got and that's it. Not putting money out here either because nothing would surprise me.

Please don't tell me your holding your breath to ride around here?
Heck I've even given up hope just to ride the lake for @$!_$ sake. I remember the years when I'd put close to 1k miles just ridding Winnebago. February 1st tomorrow not one ride out there yet.

They told you no ozone was causing an ice age? They told us we were going to fry from to much uv rays. All caused from air conditioning and aqua net.

Definitely off topic here, but I remember teachers telling us we "had to learn the metric system because our country was going to change over to it".

I also remember them telling us that all of the lakes in the U.S. and Canada would be damaged/poisoned (can't remember exactly) due to acid rain and we wouldn't be able to eat any fish we catch. This was supposed to happen by the time I was an adult. 51 now and it hasn't happened yet! I was in 2nd or 3rd grade when I was told this and it really effected me because I used to love to fish with my Dad. Never forget that crap.

sure there will be some sort of remark in response to this as there is to most other posts and quite frankly don't really care but I just want to clear something up with what people may take me as or label me as, my big complaint is with mother nature, not the people who predict or try to predict the weather, if its going to be winter.... be winter and besides snowmobiling I rely on winter for a way of life and quite honestly for me and many others in this corner of the state winter flat out sucks and has for some time now, and I'm not afraid to admit that I still get excited when I see or hear snow in the forecast and more times than not only to be let down, and no fault to the forecasters either and sometimes I and I'm sure many others make it into a joke to laugh about it. Some people don't have the availability to travel north or out of state to go riding, I have said it before if it doesn't snow down here I get 5 days of riding in the U.P. a year that's it, that's all I am able to get away for and if that's all I get to ride I am good with that and with the winters the way they have been, even though I actually have more time to go, winter is also my income and when there is no snow there is no money and makes it difficult to afford especially to go more than once. Kudos to those that can do it, I and I'm sure others do to but I envy you. Not everyone can do it, some people just cant and for those that cant or have very limited ability to it is very frustrating and yes this winter like others sucks. so label those that choose to complain but for a lot of people wither sucks.

Eagle - don't know if you are missing that much - the lake is especially unsafe this year. My dog, all of 55#, broke through on a spot on Saturday near high cliff state park. Area that was bad was about the size of a truck. More than likely if you were riding, you would have just skimmed across it, but if you would have stopped, you would have gone down. I stopped my atv 2' from it - too close for me.

.

Ironic you bring up the metric system. I had that conversation with my 13 yo son last night. I don't think it will change, but we, the United States, are behind the ball when it comes to this. We are mocked all around the world (I travel a ton for work) with our measuring system. He is in a shop class where he is learning some general building measurements, and in science where they are teaching metric.
