My wife said she was watching one of the womens sking (may have been snowboarding) and some girl crashed. My wife said the doc's were all out there tending to her and the report was that she was awake and alert but couldn't move either all or some of her limbs. Not sure how that all ended up for that girl and hopefully she is fine but my point is that all the sports at the X-Games are dangerous to some extent and when you are as good as these athletes are you are pushing the limits and riding the razor's edge no matter what the discipline.

Here is the update on her condition....sounds like she will be ok and is atleast moving all her extremities:

I was watching the snowmobile tricks yesterday. There was a guy attempting to do a trick that rides dirtbikes and has 4 hours of time on a snowmachine.

Well, he did not make his trick and he landed on the snow and his sled kept running wide open and hit the fence and a kid.

How do they even let an idiot like that attempt a trick?

I think back to the crazy risks I took in my 20s now add cameras screaming fans and the poss of millions in sponsorship money if u can just pull it off.
not hard to see why they do it.
thing is if he pulls out of it I am sure he will be back at it as soon as poss.
these guys all have buds sentenced to life in a chair they know the score but like most guys in there 20s it is way to ez to stash that image to the back of the brain and convince your self it cant happen to me again

We all take risks everyday. Just getting on a snowmobile has quite a bit of risk associated with it. Its a matter of calculating the risks and hedging the outcomes as best you can with good equipment, common sense, and skill. The enjoyment of doing what you love outweighs the risks that go along with it, right?

That being said, I doubt very highly that these young guys at the X-games are realizing how dangerous the stunts are that they are doing and how likely it is that they will get injured (or killed). Like ezra said, they are all in denial. Yeah I know, they do it because they love it. I wonder if Blair Morgan would make any different decisions if he had it to do all over again. All I can say is I would hate to be this young man's parents with two boys in the hospital, one of whom probably won't go home.

No doubt this won't slow down any of these guys down one bit.

To say the guy whos sled went into the crowd is an idiot i have to disagree some, These are action sports athletes and rewind a few years ago to x games and the Moore brothers from texas took the world by storm, they also didnt have much seat time on sleds but are very talented and have changed freestyle.
I sure do hope Caleb comes out of the hospitol healty and ok, His family had a bad year at X but lets hope to see them back at it next year!!

Not trying to be twisted, but I didn't see the crash and can't find the video online anwhere. Anyone have a link they can post?

I can't get youtube videos here at work but try doing a google search for: caleb moore crash video xgames 2013

The thing about this is...yes he went down hard, stayed down for a few mins but then walked off the course. They took him to the local hospital for evalution, CT scans/MRI, etc... which is when they found some bleeding around the heart. They then flew him to Grand Junction, CO for surgery and downhill he went.

Thanks I tried searching a couple days ago but it said the video was pulled because it violated copyright rules. Just like everyone is saying the crash really doesn't look that bad. That's really too bad.

Ok I guess but the idiot may not be the guys trying the tricks but maybe the .sshole that let them try .Bad as I feel about Caleb Moore and the other
Guy that had his sled ran it to the fans and hurt that kid the FACT is that they are ATV riders not snowmobilers The people at Xgames are at fault
Every and I mean every other event takes weeks of other events and qualifying ,I can't race isoc pro my first weekend you start off in sport .This por kids ganna
Die cause xgames sucks and they needs racing and snowmobiles to boost the ratings I mean who want to see snowboarding for 3 days xgames disrespected the sport and the Moore family
And should be held responsible for all this!! Look at it this way we all get driving permits before a license
All I'm saying is should guys be doing tricks like this with 4 hr of seat time ,it's stupid

Easy, Chicago Boy, come down off your soapbox. The Moore bros. have been doing this for more than 4 hrs. The sled that ran into the crowd did not hit anyone, but the kid did injury his knee getting out of the way. Just because YOU don't like it, there are people who enjoy the snowboarding. The X stands for Extreme which equals the possibility of injury. Now with that said and you(hopefully) down off your high horse, prayers go out to the Moore family.

Wow. Thoughts and prayers for his family and friends. First death in X games, not that they could have prevented the accident, but a rough milestone for this event.
