NEW YORK (AP) — The price of a gallon of gasoline may soon start with a "2'' across much the country.
Gasoline prices typically decline in autumn, and this year they are being pulled even lower by falling global oil prices. By the end of the year, up to 30 states could have an average gasoline price of less than $3 a gallon. The average in Springfield, Missouri, is already below $3, according to Tom Kloza, chief oil analyst at the Oil Price Information Service and GasBuddy.com. Several other cities are on the brink.



If this holds true I may be able to make an extra trip this season!

What goes down also goes up in a blink of an eye...don't tell oil companies they can cut production & prices will soar. :(

Pay attention to the Middle east, boys. In the last three days we have bombed 12 refineries. Not supposed to be a big deal to supply right now, but as the conflict heats up I'll bet prices will rise!

Yeah I saw that thought the same but speculators not reacting so far time will tell. World will have to divert some oil production to jet fuel & war machines.

Just had a price change around town today. Regular unleaded is $3.13 at a few stations, no one's higher than $3.19. Might be seeing those 2's come out again :)

Just filled up for $2.99. Had even seen $2.96 at some places earlier this week. Of course I was to stupid to top off when I saw that.

Even at $2.99/gal., gas is still $1 per gallon to high if you ask me. Ever since hurricane Katrina, the gas 'cartel' showed and proved high gas prices can be absorbed so they stuck it to us little guys aka the retail end user.

3.24 for reg here in ft wayne. Don't pay attention to diesel started running bio this summer gonna have to go back to diesel tho first frost yesterday and my filter was plugged bad.

what is the price they say it becomes not worth the cost to get oil from the oil sands in ND and Canada any more? thought it was around 2.50?
