I can tell you for certain that being under the influence of alcohol, is much more debilitating than being under the influence of pot. In fact I would go further to say that the morning after drinking, the hangover, may even be worse performance than being under the influence of either. This is totally first hand knowledge, no Guessing of the performance ability of so called "pot heads", or "drunks". Just because I do not smoke or drink now, has nothing to do with being able to effectively perform my job or not.
The reason not to drink is, being sick and tired of being sick and tired. Not smoking pot has nothing to do with any type of feeling sick or tired or mentally run down, but the legal implications of the use of it.

Not rationalizing, no need to. Just the facts. Facts not from a one sided biased point of view. Never said that misuse of pot is any better than abusing alcohol. If the use of either impacts their life in any negative way, they need to consider quitting use.

Never saw a commercial touting the fun enhancing benefits of smoking pot. Would be much more appropriate than a commercial that ends in the line don't drink and drive, and has a disclaimer in fine print, drink in moderation.

Have not seen any commercials showing horrific automobile accidents caused by stoned drivers either.

Never heard of bar brawls in the coffee houses of Amsterdam either.

IMO the use of either drug has health issues, but I think the use of pot has way less adverse effects than alcohol. In the distant future, when biased thinking is no longer a factor in these type of discussions, the majority viewpoint will be that alcohol is the demon drug, and Marijuana is the least harmful recreational drug that is in use by the folks that need a "escape".

how do u drunks have a good time? oh that's right getting slurry speech but thinking u are a slick taker as u make inappropriate comments to women u would not look twice at with out the 6pack. have fun with that. my self I still have the same 12 pack in the garage I got for the 4th of july think 8 are left. but the oz I got at the same time is 1/2 gone.
seriously I cant stand hanging out with drunks if I am sober it is the worst . at least hanging out with guys who are really stoned is at least quiet or amusing.

I'm an ex pot smoker. Smoked 6 years straight and came full circle. I jumped in head first like my addictive personality likes to do. Within a year I was smoking when I woke, lunch, dinner and out with my buds to burn for the evening. I was addicted and knew it. My now wife, than, was fed up with me and gave me an ultimatum, " stop or I'm done". Hardest thing I ever did was stop smoking pot and it took a while but I did it and will never ever again. Pot smokers are more in control of their actions than people who drink. Even if your stoned you don't swerve all over the road, slur your speech and stumble around. I did drive slower and found it harder to maintain a steady speed. The casual pot smoker is harmless. Not all pot smokers become addicted but some do just as those who drink do. The most important aspect of this debate, in my opinion, is trying to communicate our perspective through the glasses that each of us wear. Through the religious glasses I wear I believe that an individual would benefit greater in life if he or she would abstain from potential vises. I also understand that there are many glasses people wear and cannot expect others to think like I do just because I believe a certain way. Any smoke being filtered through the lungs is not better than.less smoke. I was experiencing severe sore throat and would have developed serious problems if I continued so I'm thankful I did indeed stop when I did.

Is it good for pot to be legal concerning a social aspect? Ihonestly don't know but I do think a sober mind and healthier body is advantageous!
