Trails are dirt in Townsend...don't know how other areas faired but trails need at least 8 inches of snow. Was supposed to ride up to johnnies resort for the race today but ended up driving. Still a good time but depressing to see dirt trails in February. John dee give us hope.

Disappointing season for sure, especially when we're talking about it on February 21 mot March 21. :(
Guess I'm lucky I even got 500 miles in. Hoping for one more trip at least.

Oh we'll get snow yet, but it'll be gone two days later. Got rid of the sled a few yrs ago and can't say I regret it one bit. Don't get me wrong, I like the sport and spend all the time I can in the groomer, but I had my Spyder out of the garage yesterday. It was pretty tempting to take it for a spin. Bare grass here in southern WI. Snow showers in the forecast all week. More "useless" weather...lol

Same here. But my plan was to only take a year or two off. Several years later, and two sets of registration stickers sitting on my desk that I never put on the sleds, our sleds have never left our property. Last year I put my foot down and told the club to find a replacement for me in the groomer. Its a good thing that the trails never opened down here this season because they still called me begging each time there was snow forecasted. My reasons for taking the time out are many, but I don't ever see things changing for the better.
My point is, don't take a year or two off, because it will put your whole perspective of the sport into a different light. ;)

Everyone predicted this season was going to suck. What's the point of coming on here and complaining about it? If it's not worth it to you, sell it.

Exactly... and the trails were open around home for a month as an added bonus.

Bought new sled year after being out for 2 years. Still love it!!! But can't buy a sled now days unless you have mindset to travel to the UP. Hopefully by next season my work schedule will allow me more planning ahead. To me any riding south of say Wausau is just a bonus.

AWESOME Did you read the Star Wars trailer? Perfect analogy.
Unfortunately my season is over, and nothing to do with weather. I'll make up for it next season. YOU CAN BET ON THAT!

OMG The best riding of the year is still coming, a couple years ago I put over 2,000 miles on in March, granted the base is not there like most years but still long from over.

yah hence words being a "couple years" ago. that was an epic winter.

Put on 2000 miles on your sled this March in northern wis. and you won't have a sled left.

now if you're talking UP you'll prolly be ok.

well trails in my area never even opened ONCE this whole season
SO< be glad you got what you did LOl

but yes, weather anymore is so UP and DOWN
its just terrible

from having predictable snow every winter to now, almost two winters the past 4 yrs with NO snow

makes owning a sled here almost pointless??
BUT those days you get to ride make you forget the last part HAHA!
