Detachable 2up seat? Doo or Poo or?

If money is no problem, I wouldn't bother with a 2 up add on seat and buy the new Ski-Doo Grand Touring.
The suspension will be properly implemented with the extra weight of the second rider.
These things hold their value big time so you will ride the best and have overall value.

All true, good economic investment. Grand Touring hold there value more so than other sleds. You don't have to give up any engine performance either. This is perhaps the way I will be going.

Rack stays on you can fit a quarter barrel in the rack with the seat on.. one quick push of a paddle and pow seat comes off and disconnect the power for the heated grips and pow back to a beast of a one person sled .. ya 20 wide seems big however she floats and I won’t worry about getting it stuck.. I was shocked at how well it trail rides.. oh ya new max speed is 84 ran a night run Friday and boy she can move for a big girl... I’m very happy with it.. I looked at all brands and had no intention of buying what we did... right place right time right dealership... I knew I was going to buy something from pats.. just didn’t know it was the kids trail rig... wife will not allow a doo.. so happy wife happy life.. and happy kid..

I laugh at the dealer near Hurley selling 3 year old G.T. 600 Aces with 9,000 miles on them for $4,500 but they seem to be selling. Myself, I would get a new one for $8,450 (if that was my thing).

I assume these are 600 Ace GT's? Had a dealer at the snow show tell me 600 Ace is big in rental fleets.

The ACE's are from a rental fleet in Rush City. They have lots of them for sale with high miles every year, too high priced in my mind. Still has wear on all the other stuff.

Those 600 Ace's are great for rentals....60 mph top speed (but decent pull down low)...our rentals average 27 to 29 mpg...bullet proof motor, can last along time...but the chassis, and everything else needs to be maintained...I know what people do to rentals...trust me..lol

Bring it back in a box (buy the insurance if not included)

I am in a similar situation. I have a 9 year old son that wants to ride to me. I bought a 2020 Renegade Enduro and got the ski doo 2 up seat, backrest and heated hand grips. It isn't cheap but it is worth it. I can swap out the seats in less an 2 minutes and it is still comfortable for both my son and myself. The only complaint my son has had is that reaching the heated hand grips is difficult for him. It was a great investment to get to share my love of snowmobiling with my son until he is old enough to ride his own sled on the trail.

One think I can add is I always used a harness to hold my kid to me and when they are younger they have a tendency to fall asleep so the harness at least kept him from falling off and I could always tell by the tugging of the harness when he did fall asleep. Also with the 2 up seat when they get bigger and want to drive some you can move back as passenger and still be comfortable. My son was always tall for his age so I think by the time he was 5 or 6 I had him riding behind me to save us from banging heads all day.

I had the whole linq 1 +1 setup on an XS Renegade. My daughter loved it! Haven’t worked with the Poo seat, so I can’t comment there. My new XRS will have the 1 + 1 seat option for sure. I just can’t decide 129 or 137.

It's only $150 for the 137 track, if you get the 850 you will NEED the 137.

Doo 1+1 Linq

I have a 2016 Renegade XS (1200 if it matters).

I ride it stock then change the seat and Linq backrest in minutes. Installing the heated grips was a pain but required for the kids along with the extra hand muffs is recommended.

I did have the dealer install the heavy duty springs (same as on our 2017 Grand Touring) to reduce the sag even on the highest setting. I reduce it down to 2 when riding alone.

Whats the best detachable 2up setup?

My kids are getting old enough to ride with me now, actually I probably could have did this a year ago or so but...
Two boys 8 and 6. I highly doubt an adult will ever ride behind me on it. So adult comfort is of no concern.
Just want them to be safe obviously, not fall off. Comfort is a priority as well, though I doubt either will go with me on longer rides. Most likely be 100 mile or less around home.

So what's everyone like or using? The Doo 1+1 deal or the Polaris setup? Cost isn't a concern unless its a $1500 difference between them.

Im due for a new sled anyway, but the actual sled is not a concern at all. Im sure I can find a Doo chassis or a Polaris chassis I can be happy on. Or even AC for that matter, though I haven't seen any detachable 2up seat from them.
So Im not brand loyal and dont want this to have anything to do with the sleds performance or reliability, etc.

Thanks!

Sell what you have and buy this..

I think most of those MN 600 ace rentals come from W Yellowstone or Jackson hole. With the condition and the 10,000 miles they have on them.

They are still a dependable Sled and the Motor is just broke in. They very seldom go over 40 in good Snow conditions.

I was stuck behind several of them a couple weeks ago. I bought some out of West Yellowstone a couple Years ago and had no problems.

Yeah Im not buying a touring 2 up sled. I'm also not interested in anything less than 150hp. Im only going to own 1 trail sled, I dont ride trails much. But when I do trail ride without my kids, I want a sled I can enjoy. My main riding in in the Rockies.

Just interested in detachable seats.

Thanks for replies. I'll have to go to dealers and check them out in person. But pretty much sounds like doo 1+1 is the way to go. But I will be checking out Poo and the Kimpex seat too.
