A pit bull attacked a horse this morning in Sauk County, and a woman was kicked by the horse, suffering severe facial injuries, according to the Sauk County Sheriff's Office.
Louanne Okapal, 55, was putting a saddle on a horse when it was attacked by the dog shortly before 11 a.m. in the town of LaValle, a news release said.
Okapal was taken to Reedsburg Area Medical Center where she remained as of 4:30 p.m., a nursing supervisor said. Her condition was not critical, the supervisor said, but she declined to give an exact condition.
When authorities arrived at the scene, the pit bull was hanging on the horse's face, the release said. Police shot the dog, stopping the attack, it said. Both animals are expected to survive
