Free agency NFL

267 lbs. McCarthy fined him before free agency for being so fat.

Carroll Said he doesn't care about the weight. Just wants a bruiser. We'll see how that works with their O-line.

I will say I did want Lacy back until I heard he ballooned out again. Im good with Montgomery as RB but they need a INSHAPE big guy in case it doesn't go as planned with Ty.

Just say NO to AP and Jamal. Maybe they have something left in the tank, but for the price they will need, and the injury history on both? No thanks. Id rather see Rashard Jennings, or a draft pick. I wouldn't mind Murray, but it'd have to be cheap.

Bummer about TJ, but he got more money than he was worth in Detroit. Pay for the tackles, get serviceable guards. Good for him. I guess he's from that area as well?

Montgomery seemed like a quality back stepping in last year, just not sure he can handle the load of a full season. They could use another bruiser to compliment him.

I would take AP if I was pack but it would have to be team friendly money wise. I think he still has some left in tank especially if they don't use him too much till end of season/playoff time.

Few mock drafts lately seen bears taking desaun Watson....not sure how I feel about that. 17 pics last year and lots of running. altho he did tear up the best D in college twice in big games and big moments. Ill leave the faith in pace to make that call.

If Pace thinks Watson is the guy then he should do it....IDk what will happen both Browns and 49ers need young QBs too and both will get early round draft picks in 2018. Of those 3 teams the Bears seem ready to take a step to maybe play 500 ball. Browns might do better too depending on who plays QB for them..the 49ers with Hoyer and Barkley going no where...imo

Sanchez is the third quarterback on the Bears roster, joining Mike Glennon and Connor Shaw so is Pace done with the QB position?....no draft QB?

Shaw maybe good just needs a chance coming off broken leg...IDK...Sanchez not very good but signed for 2 million so very cheap....Glennon a pure pocket passer has the arm but NOT mobile. All the 2017 draft QBs are projects not starters so I'm thinking Pace may go late in the draft depending on who is left. None of then are in the top 10 players and slipping fast now....I'm not impressed with any of them....maybe Mahomes since he has the best arm but no pocket awareness at all. Cleveland still wants Jimmy G & they want to trade Brock ..... Cutler options drying up too no idea where he goes?

Pace is high on glennon so we will see how well his eye for QBs are. Admitted trying to trade for him on 2 separate occasions over the past few seasons. said his only reason for signing sanchez was to have another veteran QB to help glennon/drafted QB.

I thought Glennon did well with what he had to work with when he started in TB. Maybe not an "elite" QB, but certainly seems like he has the potential to be at the higher end of that second tier.

Yea I agree, don't think he will be elite, but a kirk cousins level is possible...hopefully....

Fox and Pace both think Glennon can be a very good QB just needs to start and play....IDK... no body of work to judge his performance but sure hope Pace found a gold nugget after all those years of Cutler who left with a 500 W/L record. To me Cutler's record seemed much worse than 500 but numbers don't lie. lol

He has started 19 games with a 2 to 1 TD to pic ratio on a crappy team at a young age. not bad.

Im moving on from cutler. not worth commenting

Glennon has more work then Osweiler. He was also better then Osweiler was and Glennon was on a crap team. He is also built just like Osweiler. Tall tall tall. Wasn't Fox the denver coach when Osweiler was drafted?? Thats what Fox wants in a QB.

I understand you are a Big Bears fan. Nothing wrong with that, we all have our faults....lol. But face it Cutler has sucked his entire career. Sure he has the physical tools. But his brain has always and will always limit him to mediocre at best. Even MoMo has gotten over him. As Im sure the entire city of Chicago has.

Trust me, as a Packers fan, I wanted you guys to have Cuthead until the day I die.

I wanted to get rid of Cutler along time ago so I'm not a Cut fan in anyway I was just surprised he had a 500 record with the Bears...seemed much worse than that but overall 500. The last few years the Bears stunk and so did Cutler but he must have won some games early with the Bears...8 years is a long time to remember each Cutler game. So far no interest in Cutler in the NFL some talk that he might retire. My take is he will hook up when a 1st string QB goes down for the season during training camp or very early in the season much like Bradford to the Vikings but since a FA just money no draft picks.

I do like the Glennon size and no doubt he can throw. I really don't like any of the 2017 draft QBs and would wait to late rounds to draft a QB if I drafted one at all. Pace drafts a QB and Shaw is gone and imo the Bears will get better 1 year service from Shaw than a draft project QB. Next year will be a very good crop of QBs to draft so would wait until 2018 to get my guy. Maybe Mahomes if he slips to 3rd round would be an interesting project.

Romo says he done retires for a broadcasting job so another FA QB is off the market. So that leaves unsigned Collin K, Cutler & maybe Brock O. I didn't miss anybody did I that want to be starters?

Fitzpatrick.

I don't see any of them given a starting job. Texans coach says Savage is his guy. Though I can see them trying to get Cutler cheap for a year or 2 and drafting Trubitsky or Maholmes. The rest of the team is ready to win now.

I think Broncos are happy with the 2 QBs they have.

The rest of the teams that need a starting QB, suck and in rebuild mode. Better off drafting QBs until they get one that works out.

Sounds like Pats offered and AP said no. AP gonna be lucky to get 3 mil a year pretty soon. Especially if he isn't signed by draft.

AP at best is a rentaback for 1-2 years. Pats would have been a good place for him as they run when they have too otherwise it is Brady throwing. I forgot about Fitzpatrick but he is a number 2 at his best. Cutler would start at Houston and might get a look now Romo is done ...good for Jay if he can pull it off otherwise he sits until a QB gets injured in preseason. Time for teams to get down to serious draft considerations maybe a trade but this draft is deep except at QB. To me all the QBs are round 2 and later round draft picks. There may be a gold nugget in there but all seem about the same to me years away from starting and a deep draft of good QBs next year. I would be fine with Pace going with the QBs he has see if Shaw can step it up then dump worse performer next year & draft a QB next year. The Bears would do well to be 500 but highly doubt it so Pace can wait another year for young gun QB. Bears just need to show improvement even 7-9 would be good for a 3-13 team and the North looks good in 2017

romo was one of the most underated Qbs of this era. sucks to go out like that, but good for him at least he has his health. he seemed to just get smoked with the most cringe worthy hits week in and week out, so prolly a wise choice. bet he will be good in the booth.

Not sure what cutler will do he may hang them up too. or one last hurrah in houston
