Gas prices

Just heard today North Dakota is #2 behind Texas in oil production, passing Alaska at #3 now!

Two days ago I drove through ND from west end to east end completely and it shows that they are producing oil. And it is true what they say about petrol being cheaper where it comes from. I saw regular for as low as $3.31 and not much higher than $3.50 acrossed the whole state. Thats a good 50¢ lower than it is where I hang my hat.

Probably more due to taxes. The oil comes from the wells but it has to go to a refinery to become gas. There is only one small refinery in ND, in Mandan.
Here's a look at gas tax- MI is $.20 per gal higher than ND

I had a ford C max TDI in spain that was getting close to 60mpg and a fiat dti that was getting over 60 in Rome.it is BULL**** that the US Gov want better fuel economy they want there tax per gal thats it. the rest is lip service to the fringe left.
you can get diesel anything out of the US a taxi I was in was a grand Vatara disel the guy told me he got around 50mpg and was on 265k on it.you see focus/golf/lexus every car made with diesel even small trucks like the ranger and tacoma.BTW I would love a tacoma diesel

well lets count the ways
for one back in the 80s I had a Plymouth champ twin stick I got 40mpg average if road tripping could get 48 all day.
ever pick up a car battery? yeah real light what 70lbs? OK lets say you have just 8 of them 480lbs then add a drive system what minn 200lbs.
so what kind of mileage do you think that prius would get if it was not haling around a Yamaha nytro every day?
prob close to 45 I would say.
they are built and marketed to the lemming fools who want to show the world how green they are.then they drive there overpriced image to there 4000 sf house with the heated garage the house running 2 central A/C units 2 furnaces the Minni fridge in the rec room the deep freze in the basement the 36 in fridge in the kitchen and the garage fridge.don't forget how the "GREEN folks like there wine so don't forget the wine celler.
it is a douche-bag car for douche-bag people.
the better ? why are nattral gas autos only marketed and sold in 2 states in this country.toyota nissan and honda all sel a NG car with home fueling stations and can switch to unleded with a flick of the switch.
next ? why is the EPA charging 800 grand for licences per auto model you work on to do natral gas conversions ?

I agree whole heartedly but there is the small percentage that really do care and actually do drive that Hybrid and don't run three fridges and two freezers and three a/c units and just do give a rip about their "carbon footprint." And don't drive a Hummer as their primary vehicle and the Prius or Volt are just fine. (Not just a status symbol.) The secondary vehicle is a Ranger to haul feed and hay in from town once a week, and they own a carriage and horses and are just fine using that too. If you feel I am full of smoke I'll pick you up and drive you to Calumet and introduce you. Not arguing just saying. Those folks are anything BUT "douche bags." :) There is that 1% ( stupidly small percentage I know) that do care is all I am saying.

1%???? why bother bringing that up. Ezra is 99% correct. These posers are also my customers. They heat there pools with gas, not solar, fireplaces outdoors, what the heck is that all about, and a electric heated hot tub that they all have is nothing more than a 280 to 350 gallon open top hot water heater when in use. the 3" of water saturated foam does very little to save anything for energy yet the want "green tile" ya right. Mining, trucking, firing, trucking some more, all takes energy. But as long as there checks clear we will smile and tell them whatever the posers want to here. Ezra was being moderate at 4000 sq.ft. houses, most around here are 6000 to 12,000 sq. ft and for 2 people. Hybrid in your garage lol.
