GoPro as a camcorder

We are thinking of replacing out old camcorder. I have zero experience with a GoPro but thought if a person could use one as a camcorder as well as an action cam why not just get a GoPro. Would this work? Does a GoPro have the screen where you can watch what you're recording like a regular camcorder? Thanks

Yes they have a rear screen.
The only bad I can say is that you cant zoom in with them. other then that I love mine use it for hunting ,snowmobiling, and underwater all work great.

Just a little clarification, I believe only the GoPro Hero 4 silver comes standard with the rear screen, the black does not (you may be able to buy the battery bacpac backdoor with screen for the black though). In addition, I'm not sure if the screen allows you to watch what you're recording while it's recording. I'm pretty sure you can watch it on the screen after recording, just not sure if you can while recording.

As wolfriver mentions, you cannot zoom in/out with it. If you'll be using it for close up type recording it may work but if you'll be using it at a distance, it will not be your best option.
