I hope your not one the the riders on this site packing, since you don't think before you react.
I kind of find it hard to fault a scared kid for not stopping when the rest of his family is speeding off.
You made the decision to try to pass, you deal with the consequences of your decision.
Count your stars that you didn't hit the 4th seld and send it into a tree. Talk about a pissed off momma.
Glad you're ok, hope you learn something from this experience.
sounds to me like mom was prob pissing and crying about people passing the night before and JR knew darn well what he was doing and knew from past expereance there would be no blame pushed on him.
all I can say is I dont think I would have moved over and it would have gotten alot more uggly real quick.
sound deff like a intentanal situation dont think I would have left with out a call to the cops and there insurance company
If you waited for the people in front of you to pull over in order for you to pass, you wouldn't get ANYWHERE. People just never look back anymore these days...
When I ride in lager slower groups I'm usually the Caboose of the train, and I'll slow down and wave faster riders by, but I'll only do it in areas of the trail where safe passage is best for Myself, the others ahead of me and those that are trying to pass. so sometimes it may take a mile or so for someone to get the Ok from me and that's were some Patience that was mentioned earlier comes in handy. no need in getting in a big hurry and ending a ride early because the trail wasn't fit for your safe passage and a small bump, skip or sneeze caused skis to entangle. just my 2 penny take from the sweeper end.
A mile really is not much to complain about that is fine no problem. The problem is the trail blockers & they don't seem to care if it is 10 miles or a 1/2 hour they are not going to let you pass unless you get creative. I have faked these blockers hard left scoot by on right next blocker sees that fake right scoot by left on 107 & trail 8. I checked mirrors & both these blockers where just about over the berm behind me thinking I would be blocked. Its like are you kidding me!!!??? So much room to pass asked for trail at multiple stop signs long out looks & straights & still refused to give me passage that would be over in 2 seconds. Just plain rude & agressive IMO.
I never made contact with anyone sled to sled ever I know when to hit the hammer & I know what my sled can do or I would not be riding it. I do think faster riders have their sleds set up better than slower riders & actually have much better control of their sleds than the slow pokes so they can rider fast safely. I can ride over a bridge on trail 2 at 95mph hold that line absorb the bumps like a walk in the park & I know others can't do that & some are on the edge at 45mph. Just not the case with a well set up sled & a good rider. Just so you know their faster pace is not reckless jsut a good pace for them.

Lager groups? Ones who just left a bar after a few beers? When I ride in lager [sic] slower groups I'm usually the Caboose of the train, and I'll slow down and wave faster riders by, but I'll only do it in areas of the trail where safe passage is best for Myself, the others ahead of me and those that are trying to pass. so sometimes it may take a mile or so for someone to get the Ok from me and that's were some Patience that was mentioned earlier comes in handy. no need in getting in a big hurry and ending a ride early because the trail wasn't fit for your safe passage and a small bump, skip or sneeze caused skis to entangle. just my 2 penny take from the sweeper end.
Lager groups? Ones who just left a bar after a few beers?
P.S.: Sounds like good advice.
Sorry, just wanted to get to 800 posts. ha..
Only for YOU, catalac, would I stoop to put another post on this thread! Congrats!
Whitedust - per usual, the voice of reason!
Indy - you know what he's talking about now that you've spend most of your time in the twisties of the Northwoods of WI and now had some UP seat time. So glad you made it UP this season.
Judgmental jackwagons should keep their opinions to themselves!
Hilary high horses must have a FAR way to fall. I see tree stands that aren't nearly high enough for the self righteous few!
