Green Bay Mayor Looking for Favre Homecoming Ideas

I would have to say get the coroner and the morgue freed up. There are going to be some dead Packers when the Gunslinger is in town shooting down 5 TDs and Peterson has 2 or 3 on the ground.

Vikings
16-0
Loss in the first round of the playoffs
Favre retires
Favre goes to the Lions in 2010 because he just has to beat Ted Thompson

Ya know, if this keeps up not only will Favre be the only quarterback to BEAT every team in the league, he may be the only quarterback to START for every team in the league!

bigvin,

Nice shooting! I wish I had something to shot back with regarding the elected politicians. I'm still feeling the shame, kind of similar to what Packer fans were feeling after the first Vikes vs. Packers game this season.

Just wondering whether you ever noticed Ed Gein or Jeffery Dahmer wearing a cheese wedge helmet? Who got their seats anyways?

All those years of Viking fans ripping on Favre/ calling him every name in the book. It makes me laugh to hear them defend him now. If they get enough former Packer players they might be able to win a Super Bowl.

The Vikings fans need to wipe the cheese out of their eyes and realize that Favre is nothing more then an attention starved prime donna like so many other pro athletes. We all thought it was love for the game that made him special, but it is more, like money, fame and notoriety. When this years show is over (without a Super Bowl title) you will witness the same old B.S. on a national press conference he is going to say "I need time to consider my career", "I'm going to go to Mississippi and think it over" etc. etc. After free agency and just before the draft he will make a decision and everything will be perfect.

All he had to do was tell the Packers "I will be in camp in July" then show up, if it wasn't right then walk away with no regrets and no hard feelings. He was holding the Packers hostage to his demands for far to long. The way it went down could not have been worse, but the blame does not lie solely on the Packers organization.

One last point to the Vikings fans, it will not be Favre or Petersen that win you a championship, it will be because of Childress that you don't.

Has anybody else noticed that whenever the Super Bowl gets brought up the Vikings seemed to be mentioned as well? It seems that the general consciences is that the Vikings appear to have a lot of what it's going to take to get there. I've been hearing this all season. You know what I've never heard mentioned this season? Green Bay and Super Bowl. You know why? Because, anybody claiming the Packers are a legitimate Super Bowl contender would immediately get laughed right out the door. HA!

I just like to drink beer an watch football. Not sure why people get so fired up over the whole media drivin farve saga? or the politics of it all? I like to watch a game and forget about life for 3 hours.

How about #4 toilet paper once it is used up you just flush it down

I look at this like the a friend that is sleeping with your ex girlfriend and now she is hot. I am sure he will fall into his old ways soon enough.
O by the way if the Vikings do go to the Super Bowl Don't forget a Packer took you there!<font color="ff0000">&#149;</font><font color="ff0000">&#149;</font><font color="ff0000">&#149;</font><font color="ff0000">&#149;</font><font color="ff0000">&#149;</font><font color="ff0000">&#149;</font>

skeeter, this is the part i dont understand? He isnt a green bay packer! In one sentence people say "well if the vikes make it to the superbowl it will be because it took a packer to get you there" but in the next breath they say, "oh just wait, favre will fall apart" So which is it? Will it be a green bay packer that gets us to the super bowl? or will it be a green bay packer that blows it for us? He isnt a green bay packer! why cant people let that go?

Here is a long one! Found this on the Packer History page as tribute for the great one's contribution to the team.

It's funny how some Packer fans can't stand him since he is gone. Even more funny how the team still has this on their history page. http://www.packers.com/history/birth_of_a_team_and_a_legend/
He must not have been that great of a player???

I think the write-up covers every season.

Oy! FWIW football is entertainment, period. A big money business that gets all our pants in a bunch.

Should be a good game.

Go Vikes!

I like Leroy Butler's response to this question.

Q. What do you think the fan reaction to Brett Favre should be at Lambeau Field this Sunday and what do you think it actually will be?

A. The reaction should be 100% about Aaron Rodgers. When Aaron Rodgers comes out there you should give Aaron Rodgers a standing ovation because he’s our guy for the next 10 years. When Brett comes out you do like any other opposing quarterback, you boo him. If you don’t want to boo him, don’t say anything. But if you’re going to stand up wearing Packer clothing or a Packer uniform and cheer when Brett Favre comes out, you should bring a bag and put it over your head. You don’t cheer for somebody to beat your team, I don’t care who it is. You don’t cheer for another quarterback. If you want to cheer Brett, just bring a bag, put it over your head and you can cheer, and no one will hear you and that’s fine. This is Aaron Rodgers’ show. Don’t let somebody come into your back yard and cheer against you. You don’t cheer for another guy to beat your team. I hope I’m crystal clear with these fans who say they love to see Brett Favre. Well, Brett Favre is gone. It’s Aaron Rodgers’ show. He’s the No. 1-rated quarterback in the NFC, including Brett Favre. I’m happy we’ll be good for the next 10 years. I hope they’ll cheer Aaron and boo Brett. If they don’t want to boo him, that’s their right. But any other quarterback they’d boo, what makes him so special? I mean, wait until he has his number retired, you can cheer him then. You can applaud him all you want. You can’t do that the day of the game, and want your team to win. That’s standing on the fence. You’re either a Packer fan or a Brett fan. If you’re a Brett fan, go buy some purple and wear purple. I have a strong feeling on this, this is my team. I played 12 years for this team. Anybody who comes into that stadium, I want them to lose. If it were me coming back, I wouldn’t expect anyone to cheer for me when I’m going to destroy your team. Of course not.
