seriously? Im an asswipe because i didnt memorize 400 miles of trails? Yeah i dont contribute. I dont call people names like you. I avoid contibuting when i dont have anything to contribute. You should learn that lesson. Oh and i did contribute about $800 last weekend to the local businesses and $70 for trail passes. My five friends did the same. Then i brought 15 others here this weekend. And we contributed anoher $3-4 k to the local community. So theres that.

Regardless, big kudos to the groomers this week. 150 miles today and the trails are excellent all through sawyer county. Way better than last week, with only a few inches of snow. Thanks so much to the groomers for the great work! Our friends are really enjoying it here.

If i lived on a trail and rode every day i'd contribute more often. Thanks so much to those who do.

wow!! a guy thanks groomers for spending time and energy into doing what they can to have us enjoy and spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars in a county and he gets called an "a@#wipe"??? and it looks like he knew exactly where he was most of the weekend. how disappointing.

after a little research I did find the club that the a%* caller belongs to -- what a shame -- EVERY club knows how tough conditions can be -- he should of just kept his sheet MOUTH closed

Not to defend skidont but I'm not sure he was referring to sounder in his post. I may be wrong but......

bogie wheel - last year at the bar you said you were going to get out of the trail thing? Change of heart?

lol - yea I did I guess once it gets in your blood it NEVER comes out . I was getting real burnt out from the lack of help from the taverns that depend on snow trails but yet do nothing but reap the rewards -- only one tavern I know of on the tuscobia that does anything for snow trails is north country ( reed & suzie) so I gave up on that idea

just back from hayward area and we found some great riding conditions for the most part.arrived friday morning to find friends cabin furnace had been out so made quick call to lco and found a room.we unloaded at casino and headed east towards big round and then north along hwy 77 then i believe 3 up to 8.8 across to clam lake which had just been groomed and meet groomer on his way back west!from cloam lake we headed south on 25 dead horse trail till 40 down to tuscobia.tuscobia west to couderay then 9 north to flowage and trail 30 back to lco.overall nice conditions for amount of snow.we meet more groomers than sleds on friday!thanks again operators!saturday ran 9 up to 5 tha 5 across to moose lake which was nice accept of course trail along hwy 77 which is usually bad but wasn't horrid.5 from hwy 77 to moose was real nice.then we took 5 south through fisntrap and back down to tuscobia trail.tuscobia was great!took that to couderay again then up 9 to devils lake road than west to beechmoore for a bowl of chili and back up to lco!trails were thin in spots but overall great.we meet groomer several times in south of lco area several times.that area has high traffic and was pretty nice accept icy corners.get out and ride now warmer temps coming end of this week and this area will not hold up well if warms to much.
thanks again clubs and operaters for a great weekend.

Just got back from Hayward and had a blast, a bit thin in Hayward, but took 31N and pickerel forest road thru cable up to grand view Friday an Saturday, the trails were awesome both days, freshly groomed yesterday, but got thin on the way back, I would say they will need more snow now before I would go back, no traffic on Friday, but late yesterday we seen lots of traffic around Cable as temps rose above zero, also we stayed at the Flat creek Inn in Hayward and it was a great place, hot tub for those sore muscles from the 1st ride, awesome food, bar and rooms were up to date and clean along with comfortable beds

I know what you mean about it staying in your blood! Damn I wished I lived closer so I could help!

Anyone know if trail 18 between trap N Fish and the flowage has been groomed yet this year? It wasn't at all over the week before Christmas and New years while all surrounding trails were at least once. This is also the case for the last few years. Unfortunately this is the trail my crew starts and ends all outings on unless I trailer from the cabin.

BTW, the Team that grooms 5 from trap N Fish to north to Moose Lake, 21 North of moose lake and 3 in that same area has been doing a great job the last few years! Love that ride once I get off of 18 :).

18 has been groomed a couple of times --still good-- but it needs MORE snow like most trails in the area , we will continue to work with what we have
also trail 12 is being groomed same time 18 is .

Please excuse me, as I don’t fallow this web site, but was advised of your dissatisfaction with Sawyer County trail conditions. I am the trail coordinator for the Sawyer County Snowmobile/ATV Alliance and our goal is to have the best snow trails in the state and if Mother Nature does not cooperate we want to report accurate conditions. Sawyer County is the 5th Largest County in Wisconsin so conditions can vary greatly from North to South. We try to update trail conditions every Monday and Thursday.
Sawyer County groomers have been out and most all trails have been groomed, but groomers have not and for now will not be going out more than once a week due to limited snow conditions. A couple of groomers have been out a bit more in higher snow areas. But many groomers are parked on a busy Saturday rather than have issues on a heavily traveled trail system. Most of the grooming is done at night.
Can you please advise what trail numbers that you traveled so we can see why there were problems. I am not aware of any closed gates in Sawyer County, but if you went to Stone Lake there is a strong chance that you crossed into Washburn County and their trails are not open at this time. Sawyer County does not post conditions in neighboring counties. What Ashland County trail was an autobahn? And what connecting Sawyer trail was a motocross?
Sawyer County wants you to come back and ENJOY our trails, so if you could please advise exactly what trails were a problem, we will most certainly look into correcting any problems that we can. Thank you.

Hopefully this weekend when you come back you will find our trails in better conditions.
Not knowing which place the first groomer was parked at, I cant respond on that one. The groomer that was at Chit Chat grooms Sawyer and Washburn county trails. Washburn County snow trails were closed last weekend and did not open until this week. Trail 28 on Long Lake and trail 140 are in Washburn County and that is probably where you encountered the gate on private property. We generally don’t post trail conditions for the neighboring counties. In regards to trail #27 I will do some fallow up to see what we can do to improve signing.
Until the cold spell we have had sense new years we were not able to groom several of the trails that have swamps and wet lands, as they were not solid enough for groomers to cross. This would include trails 18, 14 and 9. Groomers have been on all of these trails now, and hopefully they should be in better condition. Please let me know of an concerns or issues that I could help with. Thank you for riding the Sawyer County trails and helping support our local businesses.

Trails were really thinning out on Saturday pm, warm temps will toast the trails, me and my bud were gonna come back this coming weekend, but not after riding on dirt an ice, more snow is needed in most all areas from Hayward to Ashland county from where we rode. my high fax were shot along with my carbides, both were new before the weekend.
