Nice sled lenny i like the black hood. i always liked those fx nytros with the all black hood but hmmm i just couldnt do it LOL Rode my buddys dads Z1 LXR non turbo just too heavy and I didn't like the feeling of the throttle with a 4s behind it... With the miles I put on per year (already got 1085) a 4s would be good for me but I seem to wear the rest of the sled out before the motor anyways LOL

What do you mean you are going to miss the 2 stroke smell? I wait all year for that!
Bottle it up and sell it as cologne...I'll buy it!

Hope the lights work on the way back as last years it was hard to follow the big spray of snow coming of the side of the mountin max. Good thing you had lights and know we're your going.

Lenny, don't listen to them! Some of these guys are just to brand loyal! Take Pr1 for instance, he could be on the biggest POS ever made, but, because it says Polaris on it, he wouldn't care! LOL.

Superior technology? Isn't that a 2003?

lol,,no,,I bought that one new in 03, just found the pics on my pc and thought I'd post them. The black one in the one and it's an 07. You gotta admit that in 03 many things in te sled industry were happening. Yammi with 145 hp performance, doo with the new REV chassis. It's all a process of evolution and manufactures see it a bit differently. Yamaha does not want to compete in the emissions of 2 strokes any longer and are fully committed to performance 4 strokes and they have done a good job motor wise since 03.

Indy, when you are up this way, you are welcome to run my sled,,,not for me to try an prove anything but simply for the experience. Today I drove my buddies doo and man is it nice, we all ride each others stuff,,, for the experience. I find them all to be good and will admit that Yamaha may be on the bottom of the list for over all handling but with some good skis and the sus set correctly they are a formidable challenge and is up there. I base this on riding DWZ's XTX Apex.

Weight is a real misnomer IMO

yup, in 03 you got serious hp and torque right out the box on 4 stroke,,,, and non turbo by Yamaha 145 hp by 05 I believe the entire Yamaha line up was 4 stroke. I'm not saying Yamaha was first in 4 stroke tech but I am saying they did a great job in performance and reliability and that to many people are 2 very important aspects of sledding

you couldn't pay me enough to own another 03 RX1

Sounds like a plan man! Hopefully coming up somewhere around the 17/18/19? Not sure we got so much snow here no need to trailer quite yet, until the trails get wiped out and the LES guns fire up! You're more than welcome to take my 500 for a spin, no more 2" paddle though had to get a ripsaw :( too many torn lugs made me uncomfortable and hopefully its back up and running by then, trailing arm mount shall be here thursday.
