I love Mtn Dew but!

The old Dew had real cane sugar, and the soda companies went cheap with high fructose corn syrup, so "Throwback Dew" has actual sugar in it. As far as grams of sugar in my Sprite or Sierra Mist, I just dilute it with extra Windsor.

Works for me!
My buddy from California came up to go sledding, we stayed in Bergland. One night at the Bergland Bay Bar I bought him a Windsor Coke, his first ever as there is no Windsor in CA. Poured him into bed that night!

Diet Dew IV

I can't survive my day without my Diet Dew - really. I prolly drink 6 cans a day - sometimes more, rarely less.

Right now I am out of pop money and what's worse is there are no Pepsi products on ad this week. I feel like a junkie... starting to panic - my stash is getting low!

Back in the day my own personal Pepsi Man, Doug, would bring me 5 cases at a time for only 4.00 a case. But that program got shut down... took me a few weeks to recover when Doug delivered the bad news.

When I don't drink it, I get headaches... so then I drink it and the headaches go away!

I'm a Diet Dew Junkie...

The end of day 2 now and no headache today, go figure. I want one but not bad. I have other issues I am trying to correct so staying away from the sugar is good. My weight should be 175 and I am 194 right now. I wanna get beck into BMX and at age 45 I cannot get in shape with poor habits, that's why I am insistent to go cold turkey. I got my cross bike out tonight and cleaned it up, checked it over good. Gonna do 25 miles tomorrow evening, 55 over the weekend. I gotta achieve my weight again

I'm like Indy, 1-2 day but the 2nd is a Pepsi. Those two go in my lunch every day but I sometimes only drink one of them. On weekends I often have none w/o any issues. Now that I only work 4 days a week, Friday I mostly do Gatorade as it is my hiking/geocaching day and pop doesn't work for me being warm in a backpack. I've tried the water only thing during the week but that gets boring even with the Propel add-ins.

As for "being at your target weight", I'm not sure where the heck I should be. I go from 220-225-220 and I really do not eat that much at all, 2 "meals" at most during the day and my dinner is in a small tupperware container (evening shift) so that is not much. But everything I eat (even the bad things) is in moderation yet I can never get under 220. Even if I try cutting back further I still can lose but then I get run down after awhile. I realize I have to excercise more but I would end up eating more to offset the excercise, the vicious circle. I have been excersing more with the hiking but it has only did a little as I was at 230. So I have come to the conclusion to accept my "size" and not stress on it asI have enough of that at work, manufacturing isn't what it used to be.

When I hear people talk about "ideal" or "target" weight, I always think of my favorite "Normism" from Cheers...(Woody) Hey, Mr. Peterson, what are you up to? (Norm) My ideal weight if I was 12 feet tall...

Don't do it Indy, listen to your elders and stay away of unnecessary consumption. You are indicating you don't care about your health. In 15 years you gonna be 30 and looking back at why you are a mess. Now is the time to obtain a healthy lifestyle. Of course every makes their own decisions but sometimes advise is invaluable

No Lenny I haven't read the article but on Tuesday after our experiment I had to see my diabetic educater. I drink alot of soda as well. It is all diet that I drink beings I am a diabetic. This last weekend during our experiment I drank about a 12 pack of Diet Dew. I seldom drink dew but that is what I had. I drink no particular flavor. After I saw my educater on Tuesday and she asked how much I drink I told her and she was amazed. She said it was not good. My goal this week was to cut down. So far since Tues. I have had 3 diet cokes. I am hoping to get that down even more. I have resorted to drinking more water and I do feel better. I have had no withdrawels. I have also noticed that I am not craving sweets as much either. I know it hasn't been that long but am hoping the more days I can go without it will get easier.

Indy, you can live a great life and eat and drink all the rotten stuff you can find. Then one day you wake up with chest pains or perhaps your joints don't move without a great deal of pain. I could go on and on about chemical induced health effects...Your young and can make a hudge differance in your life. Would'nt it be great to do all you like/love when your in your 70's... Take the advice from the people that have lived it.
Clean water is the best for you, afterall you are over 80% water...

hey Indy my grandparents that lived well into there 90tys ate eggs, bacon, butter, lard and all the meat you can want or have The key to it is eat in moderation Doctors also tell that teetotalers are not as healthy as they think to Also get out and exercise Most of our elders had tough lives back in the day no dishwashers , no modern day anything and worked long hours that required standing not sitting all day on a computer or at a desk you got to get up and move Also water is good to but you can over do that also Do the Dew and live life to the fullest and you will be fine Also dark chocolate is good for the cholestrol to :p GOOD EATS to ya'll :)

This is the key word to this entire discussion. Enjoy life, enjoy a Dew, enjoy a beer, enjoy a steak, etc. but don't over do it. 88 is also correct, get out and do some exercise. Anybody who over does it will pay a price. :)
