I started looking around didn't feel comfortable investing thousands on potential uncertainties (unforeseen problems with sled). Basically, If I'm gonna spend 4 g's why not 10!

I like the way you think! Thats going to be a awesome sled for your trip out west. Was trying to be the 8th man but childs birthday next week. Put it out there anyway but failed in comittee. Enjoy your new ride and have a safe trip!

Greg,

I remember when we crossed paths up past TL. I was killing myself to get around on my old heap of junk PML, what a beast. You were with Hiawatha Al that day. We were taking a break and then we hear sleds coming a ways away. We watched you guys tear up some serious terrain, that's a steep area. I was amazed at what you guys were climbing, actually after seeing you guys doing what you were motivated me to push harder but not much was gonna happen on a underpowered, heavy, mind of it's own sled like mine.

Have you been riding the hawk much this season?

I have been on the Hawk some. I spent the first 5 rides trying to get it to run correctly and finally nailed the set up! Then the Tropical weather hit... No Hawk in the rock hard snow! Come on POW... Congrats on the sled!!!

Lenny I know on my '08 M8 there is a 12 VDC plug with a cap on it behind the aluminum plate that is above the pipe and covering the steering post area. I used that to wire power for the waterproof Nuvi 500 GPS I had gotten (even though I still think using a GPS is unfair but I do like it :) ). I think I read that the newer ones still have the plug but it might be AC???

So far I removed the bar pad and that plate you guys are referring to and check real good and see no hook up. Are you saying the female end of the accessory is there or just acc wires that I'll need to connect to. I didn't see any thing that looked like it was prepped for an acc port. Any more ideas, possible I missed it?

On my '08 there was just the 2 prong plug (one male, one female) with a dummy cap on it sitting back there ready to go (there may have been a wire tied around on the ground side but nothing on the hot). I know I read '09s also have it, not sure newer but I cannot fathom them re-engineering the harness to get rid of it? My sled lives in the Yoop or i'd be glad to take it apart and snap a picture. Do a search for acc port on M8 and I bet you'll get lots of hits.

sometimes we make things happen. I found out I was gonna have to spend roughly 6 g's to get a nicer M. I bit the bullet and went new, Have not spent a dime yet, nor will for a while. Took advantage of the promo's. I'll pay down the balance and in 5 months I'll look for a no interest credit card for 1 year and finish paying off the balance with that year. So, in 1.5 years I'll pay for the sled and pay no interest, best deal around. Done it before and with good discipline it works. ;)

I hear you Lenny. The F7 I bought new 4 years ago had 1 year interest free financing and I took advantage of it BUT I also paid it off in the 12 months. I'd be damned if I was going to pay interest on a toy. Kudos to you and your new sled! :D
