Congrats Lenny! Hope you get some more snow to enjoy it. Look forward to seeing it when we are back up at the town hall next winter. Dave B.

Lenny I know on my '08 M8 there is a 12 VDC plug with a cap on it behind the aluminum plate that is above the pipe and covering the steering post area. I used that to wire power for the waterproof Nuvi 500 GPS I had gotten (even though I still think using a GPS is unfair but I do like it :) ). I think I read that the newer ones still have the plug but it might be AC???

Lenny I think scottd is right. It is behind the triagular shaped aluminum plate. It may be plugged into a "dummy" wire over by the ignition switch.

put just under 100 miles today, got 12.5 mpg on first tank. I am not worried about mileage but it's good to have a number in your head when you head out off trail or in da mtns

Gonna check to see if that acc port is behind the plate you guys mentioned, thanks

no doubt a cool sled but I wouldn't have traded my mtn max for that thing, if the deal was I had to ride it. If I didn't have to ride it and trade I'd sell it. No matter how much you mod those beasts out they are not for the tight woods riding in the UP. Give them an open area and I bet they would be impressive. To heavy up front and I'm not strong enough to deal with it, it just bums me out thinking back to riding that chassis, been there, done that :(

But Lenny, it's got the "Timbersled (39'' BARK BUSTER) front suspension" which I'm sure is guaranteed to shear timber up to 20" in diameter or break trying.

well than,,,,,If we were to add a 50 lb weight to the rear it may just compensate for being front heavy. I think Yamaha could make this problem go away with some incredible engineering. If they did I may reconsider them in the future for UP style boondocking sled. It'd still be more effort in handling the machine but negotiating tight uphill tree areas would improve, probably never to a doo, cat or poo just because of the weight. It's all opinion I guess.
