Yep, absolutely believe that, but that’s solely due to traffic. Many who would’ve rode in WI had long holiday weekend plans already made to ride the UP because they didn’t anticipate iron and vilas opening.I for one rode both Bergland area and Iron County last weekend. Wasn't even close. Iron county much better riding. Yes, light on snow for this time of year, but I did not see any reason they shouldn't have been open.
It’s also due to Wisconsin having a much greater connectivity with their trails and a greater grooming capacity with more volunteers. I like riding the UP but having just one N/S trail in WUP with the offshoot trails being shutdown (13/Freida) is a major negative. Too many sled with too little trails is a recipe for moguls.Yep, absolutely believe that, but that’s solely due to traffic. I was up there on Friday the 17th and have never in my 50 years of riding have I seen more sleds in one area. Fortunately, we didnt need fuel.It sure has been. Grand marais at noon on a Saturday the last few weekends is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen. Sleds on sleds on sleds.
That looks about right on the Iron Nugget pizzeria webcam...Also Iron county, Wi just bumped UP their trail rating from fair to GOOD...Hurley reporting a foot of new snow. That changes things up quickly for them.
