I dont think there is any "click" and i dont think anyone dislikes new commers. I think this just happens to be one of the sites that actually enforces its rules. I think the mods would like to protect the site from turning into a total free for all like some of the other sled sites out there. (im just guessing not trying to speak for anyone)I think the mods let you bend the rules to a point then just cut it off when it gets out of hand. Guys having mulitple screen names and staging debates with themselves was getting a little old. Those that were doing it exposed themselves almost immeadiatly which was funny and it was delt with. So this thread has served its purpose.

I know for a fact of other sled sites that have lost advertising revenue due to the uncontrolled "douchebaggery" that takes place.

I dont always agree with what gets cut either but its not my site. I dont take it personally. Its just a website that i get to come to anytime i want and get a custom forecast, get tech advice, and chat with cool people all for FREE!!!!

Oh and one last thought and Im done with this thread.........

Sea & Snow RULES!

LMFAO! on the last line, my eyes are watering, olsmann you sneaky snake! gotta luv this site.

I have seen many a person start their first post by saying (in effect) "Hi, I'm new to the site and....blah blah blah etc. etc. etc....." to which they get a whole bunch of "welcome to the JD family!" replies. I'm pretty sure I've never seen a newbie given a negative reply -- unless they said something rude, lewd, completely idiotic, against board rules, etc.

frnash, where are you when we need you???

You can "click" over here or "click" over there but it still won't make you part of the "clique"

Clique
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This article is about social groups. For other uses, see Clique (disambiguation).
A clique (pronounced /ˈkliːk/, also /ˈklɪk/ (U.S.)) is an inclusive group of people who share interests, views, purposes, patterns of behavior, or ethnicity.[1] A clique as a reference group can be either normative or comparative. Membership in a clique is typically exclusive, and qualifications for membership may be social or essential to the nature of the clique. The term 'clique' may be used pejoratively. A clique can be both positive and negative.

Very well said. And that was the purpose of this entire thread. I have no problem with humor either but I knew it wouldnt take long for them to expose themselves! (in a matter of speaking)

Oh and people have 22 ip addresses for that very reason. Trolling online

Could it be that he does not own a computer and goes to a library or school and uses one. Don't know too much about IP addresses, just a thought.

Thank you for pointing out my error.

This is the perfect example of what I am talking about. If you are a member of the clique, then you are free to slam someone for spelling, oil brand choice etc.
However, if you are not a member of the clique, then you had better not slam anyone for backpacks and garden tools etc.

Be original and lone wolf it, cliques only contain followers incapable of developing any type of an opinion on their own.

Could be. If the person doesn't cause trouble, i wouldn't fret. I bet I have a few IP addresses from friends houses, school, grandparents, relatives, my house, etc.

I've been coming here almost daily since I first found JD over 6? years ago. I rarely post because most of ya'll answer my questions for me and what's there to add with all the smart allecks here!! ;)
I don't see a change around here except for the fact that we're all, well, here at this site instead of riding and the rain p-d us all off!!!!
And I know no one was complaining was just asking if the d-bags were getting too many (cuz I think we've all probly seen it happen at other sites!) who's gonna complain about a few jerks when at least we see pics of trails with reports from real riders instead of an 800 number by the local Chamber of Commerce telling us the trails are 'Fair to GOOD!' when there's mud!?! And we get all geeked up, make a long drive cuz we're 'ready to RIDE' and then find out what?
And if any 'flatlanders' get snippy it's just cuz we don't really wanna live here!! ;)
I will say if we can't all be riding this is the best place to come - even with some of the idjuts that drop on by.
And that's my (what #) post since JD went to new format? 5? And I even typed all this crap on my blackberry cuz my 'puter is down!
Who always says 'here, bleezard bleezard'? Mezz? post one up for us all!

famous, I don't get where you think any "slamming" has been going on here. There has been some fun poked with the various topics you mentioned, i.e. oil, backpacks & garden tools, spelling etc..... All that I have read & some that I have personally participated in were all done in jest. The recent newcomers were clearly causing trouble. They were not being picked on by a "member of the clique". The moderators do a fantastic job on this site keeping the peace. Without them, John would not be able to run this on his own & keep the site as it was intended, for some good clean fun. In all likelyhood, this site would not be around if it were not for the help he gets from the moderators. Whether you realize it or not, you yourself are part of this so-called Clique & with over 400 posts yourself, you cannot deny that. I think everyone here would agree, we may pick & poke fun at times, but, in the end, there is no harm done, just some light hearted fun. Enjoy it or walk away.-Mezz
