Is saying it has a "tick" the new way of trying to lower someone on their price?

Is saying it has a "tick" the new way of trying to lower someone on their price?

Getting so sick of it. Selling my dads sled a month ago guy claimed it had a tick it had a tick then asked how firm we are on price we knocked $50 off and he ended up buying it anyways. Now we're selling a lawn mower guy looked it over then asked if we were still firm on price and we said yup 1500 no lower and the guy then brought up it had a real bad tick and needs engine work. What is wrong with people these days? If my stuff has a tick its going to get fixed. It feels insulting when clearly there's nothing wrong with it.

Having the same issues on Craigslist lately. Everybody seems to know what something is worth before they even see it or ask questions. It's very frustrating and then becomes a back and forth email/text debate.
Sick of dealing with these losers!
Anyways, I have a riding mower for sale for $200.00. Needs to have the spark plug threads tapped out and an insert put in.
Guy offers me $100.00 and tells me I'm an idiot for trying to sell something that doesn't work. Wish I could post the texts. Why would he even bother me in the first place let alone text me at least 12 times about it?
People are stupid. I just wish I could magically block them from wasting precious minutes of my life!
Sorry for the rant.

Be thankful he did not buy it. You don't need that loser coming to your house to pick it up. I do not like Craigslist for that reason.

I would never have sold it to him!

On the subject, I have a nice Craftsman LT 1000 Riding mower for sale. Works great. Just needs the spark plug threads tapped out. I will sell it to a John Dee member for $150. It's a 42" cut with a 16hp Kohler Motor and automatic transmission. The trans alone is worth $150. Cutting decks are going from $100 - $200. Would be perfect for an up north place or just use it at home. Will post in classified section with a couple of pics later.

The Internet University ( IU ) has Edumakated everyone on what things "SHOULD" cost! (according to some)
I will not CL sell anything for many reasons. Pull up to a sellers home and just keep on trucking by the unkemp everything...nothing i need to buy that bad to inherit their mechanical problems!
Just like Life, good people out there and there are also a lot of PIN HEADS!

I need to go take a bath in Insecticide now.

CL is becoming a waste and a pain i won't bother with at anymore either.

I have been trying to sell a wood boat, not because I need to sell just don't use it much.
Explain it's a cartop boat (but is heavy 90lb) designed for rowing, no motor - rowing only. Sailing if you want to modify it. NO trailer
Have a link to the website to answer any possible question you think of.

The boat is stored hanging from the ceiling
They come out I take it down, talk, talk, talk, Million questions that where all already answered
Then where is the trailer?, where is the motor?
Dang can you read? did you look at the link, or google the kit name tons on info online?

Probably showed it 5 times, none of them really seem like they are looking for a boat like this, it takes a certain person.

One guy said he wanted to see it - was driving from Texas was heading to Canada, and wanted it for Muske fishing last fall.
I told him this is not the boat for that, but let him come anyway just cause I figured he was full of sheat.
He really did have Texas plates on his hummer, and it was loaded with fishing gear.
Was here for 2 hours studying it, trying to get me to modfiy it for him right there for a motor - Said get out the cash and take it or leave.

When he left I took my CL ad down, I am keeping it, I'll make a lid for it, and they can bury me in it.

I don't know, I've had very good luck with CL, buying and selling. Yeah, I've come across the "trailer trash" but they are usually pretty quick to identify themselves. You can tell fairly quickly what kind of a person you are dealing with by how the ad is put together, and/or a quick phone conversation.
