I tried out both. I have wide feet. The HMK Voyager lace up sizing was spot on. A 12 is a 12. Being a klim poster child I really tried to over look its flaws. Took a klim 14 to fit width but was way to long. The 13 was s ug for my 12 w feet. Hmk, a similar product is less money and better fit. Smurfrider is on his second pair of klim boots in 2 years, both pair leak. His feet stay warm but wet. I currently wear RUOutside (Baffin) boots but just ordered the Hmk voyager lace ups for more ankle support. EBay.
I've got both klim adrenaline gtx & the voyager boa's. I really like the support I get from the hmks. My klims were starting to come apart at the soles, but I'm hard on boots. I've had them for 4, 5 years now. Hopefully the hmks last that long or longer.
I have a pair of the adrenaline GTX boots that are real old (second year they were out). This year they just started to leak due to the fabric area wearing out from hitting the running boards on my mountain sled. I will be buying another pair of the same thing at the snow show this fall for next year. Great boots.
I own both. You can't go wrong with either one. I like the support of the HMK's. And I like the tougher sole material on the Klims as they stand up to snow eliminators and the 2013 and now (current ride) 2014 Pro RMK running boards. I still take both boots on a trip in case one set gets soaked from a creek in the morning as my boot dryer won't dry them fast enough to get back out before dark (western off-trail riding).
Never tried HMK, but wasn't entirely happy with my Klim Adrenaline's from the get go. Wet feet, rips, torn soles, etc. (Not knocking on KLIM. I love their stuff, and use everything else KLIM). I picked up a new set of Motorfist Stomper 2.0's a couple months back, and have never been happier with a boot so far. Warm, Dry, and sturdy. The added insulation in the 2.0, along with and added boot height was a big bonus. Good luck on whatever you go with.
I've had Castle Force boots for a couple of years now. Water proof (at least for all day in the powder) and very comfortable and good support. $169 retail. Better fit than my Klim Adrenaline.
