Hockey Duffle

Thanks for all of the ideas. My first bag sledding was my hockey duffle bag so I was looking at them to start off with. I found a nice hockey bag that didn't have all of the Bling Bling on it and was very reasonably priced $49.95. Sorry but I am not paying $170 for a duffle bag no matter who's name is on it!!!! The RED GREEN side of me says that would buy alot of duck, duck, 100mph tape.

Keep your stick on the Ice !!!!

If the women do find you handsome, they better find you handy!!!!

Bass Pro is where I got mine. Fit all of my gear, clothes and then some... Held up to the 12 mile ride from the parking lot to Cooke City and back... and being dragged back and forth to the UP... litterly dragged... almost too heavy to carry.

Not that it helps now but years ago (probably 20) Yamaha made a gear bag that was great. The top had 2 compartments, one to hold your helmet, they other about 2x the size held clothes, more than enough for a long weekend. There was a seperate long flat bag that held your boots (laying flat) and your bibs that zippered to the bottom of the top bag. Used that bag for over 10 years and the only reason it was retired is we leave all our gear at our place up north now. Have to think if someone would make one of these again it would be a hit.

Just found this, imagine this bag with a second compartment that zips on under it to hold boots and bibs.

I went to Fleet Farm or Target. I bought a large plastic tote that has hinged lid. It has locking clasps on the front of the lid that can also be padlocked. I iput so much gear in this thing it's not funny. I literally held enough gear for three people-helmets and boots included. It was heavy, but when we were heading north for the weekend, I just went to the basement, grabbed it and tossed it in the trailer. When we got north, I put it in the cabin and opened it up. Within 15 minutes the gear was warmed up and we could ride. I think I paid about $15 for the thing. Still looks like new.

No clue on the brand, but we got gear bags from the snowmobile show. They were cheap- like $20 per bag. Had them a few years now. Check at next year's snowmobile show. They always have a booth. One GIANT duffle that we throw our (my stuff and husband's) riding gear in. Holds 2 pairs of boots, bibs, 2 helmets, assorted sets of gloves, face masks, gauntlets, etc. The thing is huge. I like that all of our stuff is in there, no thinking about packing, etc. When we get home, I wash the face masks and whatnot and throw them back in there. Just throw the bag in the car for the next trip.
We also have a smaller duffle (still big, but not HUGE) that has 2 side pouches, and one larger center area. I use this to pack our clothes, towels, toiletries, etc.

I will argue the big bag, I like several small not stuffed to the gill
bags. Toss em in the back of the suburban and it makes a nice nest
to sleep in. You can stack them on the luggage cart at the motel and get in the doors and elevator.

Go to www.hockeygiant.com you can get great hockey bags at a great price.

That is where I went. I am a little reluctant but we will see. They have a store in Mpls MN so I called and asked about a certain bag. Even gave them the code from the website. The person responded that they didn't need it becasue they knew exactly which one I was looking for. When I asked which of the colors they had in stock he said they never had more than one color (web site had 4 colors). When I asked if I could order it on line a pick it up in the store he said NO!! Order online and they ship it to you ($8-12 shipping) Come to the store and buy it ($8-12 more than online). I am buying two to take advatange of free shipping this month!!!! It was a little strange but we will see how the transaction works.
