I drive a cat I dont need tools

For the record Ezra....

If you sit IN it.....You DRIVE it. If you sit ON it...You RIDE it. Kinda like when you took your horse out for a drive......

Geography aside, you don't need tools on your "cat" because they're disposable sleds, which is why they are "green". :)

but if I stand 65%of the time am I riding or driving ?I think riding is passive witch would be true getting to the woods.driving would be active that is what you do when you pop off in to the woods.

are those all snap-on tools?

Indy take my word for it DONT buy cheep tools.when you buy cheep tools you will replace them often because they bust or you don't bother to look for them if you loose them or you borrow them out.start making your xmass list now.every bud I have has gotten a snap on socket set or wrench set for the wedding gift Bride gets enough junk.start now and don't go cheep

X2 - at work I have mostly snapon, some matco and mac, at home I have craftsman, craftsman is ok for home, but at work craftsman doesn't hold up as well and its a pain to keep going to sears to replace broken tools, even with lifetime warr.

I'll post pics. of my tool boxes later.

i was thinking of craftsman socket set just because we are very close to sears, about a 8 min. drive. in the summer i use sockets about every day. in the fall i use them every weekend and along with the spring-every weekend. winter i try but it's just too dang hard working on stuff without a heated garage. i know i will have a gut feeling in me if i buy all snap-on, any other middle of the spectrum brands out there i should look into?

or do you guys seriously recommend the good stuff?

Craftsman are good tools most of them have lifetime warrenty. And your 8 mins. away.

Most of my tools are craftsman, snap on, cornwell, and some matco. I also have snap on and cornwell guy that stop by our shop once a week.

well I keep my craftsman ratchets in the travel tool box good stuff but I have had the same snap on ratchets for better than 15 yrs and have not had to go to sears to get the rebuild kit 3 times like the ones in my travel box. but I have had that set for over 20 yrs not bad 20 yrs hand full of broken sockets and 3 rebuild kits.the other prob with sears is every one has sears so if a guy brings his tools to your shop or trailer you start working grabbing your tools they get mixed up fast then you go through the is this yours or is it my 9/16 dance and next time you need a 9/16 guess what your buddy has it.he thinks it is his cuz his Buddy took his before he realized it.and that my friend is why all my travel tools are painted day glow pink I can spot one of my sockets in some one else's box at 100yrd,s.and when I started painting tools 25yrs ago I figured most men would no go with pink or want to steel pink tools so there you go

Craftsman are good tools …
Sears Craftsman tools have always served the porpoise fer me, but that doesn't count fer much, 'cuz I have twelve thumbs for mechanical 'tings.

My concern would be that the Sears and Sawbucks of today is "not your father's Oldsmobile" … er … "not your father's Sears". Since 2005 it is nothing more than Kmart in a Sears suit. Do today's Craftsman tools say "made in China" yet? Is there a potential quality issue here?

As a former Auto mechanic, I own mostly Craftsman tools. Yes Mac and Snap-on are better quality tools, but if you use some common sense when working with tools, it is hard to break a craftsman socket, wrench, extension, or ratchet. Use the right tools for the job. Grip the tools the right way. When I first started wrenchin, I broke alot of tools, but they werent mine, and the owner taught me how to properly use tools. I dont even break cheap bargain bin tools anymore that all my buds seem to buy. Take the time to learn how to use tools and you will be fine with the less expensive craftsman.

It really comes down to how deep your pockets are indy. Are you going to make a living with your tools, or fix your own stuff? If your going to be making a living off of your tools than spend the money and get the big name stuff. There are lots of reasons why they are in shops across this country. But if your just tinkering on occasion then craftsman will be fine.

X2 on the S and K tools. Made in america yet. Use every day working great. I think they make the tools for craftsman as well. Kinda like the difference between a chevy and a caddy (nash what do you think?)

I have mostly Craftsman tools. A few years ago the torque setting adjuster on my torque wrench broke. I took it back and was told that it had a one year warranty. I talked to the store manager and voiced my displeasure to no avail. So I was left with an expensive ratchet. Now the ratchet broke and all they will do is fix the ratchet and not replace what I think is a faulty tool. I told the store manager this time about all the money that I have spent in Sears and you want to lose a good customer over one wrench. I guess she was ok with that. I will not be putting anymore Craftsman tools in my tool box. There other good tools out there with warranties.
