Even though I am a Ski Doo guy, my most dependable sled I have ever owned was my 1995 Polaris Super Sport 440 fan cooled. 5400 miles when I sold it this year and never had to put $1 into it because I had to. Only upgrades like shocks and carbides. Still started in 1 pull and the compression when I sold it was 130. It was stolen twice and had a few scrapes from letting others ride it. Great dependable Fuji fan cooled motor. Below is the day I sold it.

2005 Ski-doo Renegade 600 sdi - 9,200 miles. I have replaced nothing but normal wear items: belts, carbides, plugs, battery. It is due for new clutch springs. It still has 140 psi per cylinder.

Once at Elbow Lake bar and once out of my garage in my old house. The first recovery took about a month or so. Insurance had already cut a check and a new sled bought then got the phone call, bought it back from the insurance company. The second was two days later.

2006 skidoo 600sdi still has 145 lbs in each hole. 7500 hard miles(ride it like you stole it) Summerized correctly every year, skid pulled out every year. Some electronic issues the first year,but after that nothing but normal maintance. This is the best sled I ever owned. I'll be looking for another one for the other half soon. And yes Tomx the best part is doing 12oz curls while hangin in the garage.

Well until last weekend my ZR900 had been trouble free for 6 years. Buddies and i were out ice fishing and were talking about the miles on it and what it was worth. Well it pulled the shanty back to the truck and died. Thinking main bearing went out. Will be replacing shocks and bearings this summer. Then it will become a back up sled to a new backcountry next winter.

2007 AC F-6 back-up sled, 7505 miles
2008 Pol 600RR 7600 + miles ( lower end, upper end, 2nd track this year @ 7100)
2009 SD 800R 5273 miles ( 2nd track, went with a 2 ply )
We are tuff on stuff, but all 3 of these performed OK, like every sled, maintenance is key.

I have a 99 zl600 efi, uses a ton of oil, has 8000 miles on it and runs faster than new. Other than a new fuel pump I have not had any major problems.

Hate to show my age but how about an 81 El Tigre with 15,000 miles on hyfax and one new set of rings.

dependable sled

98 xc 600 8500+ miles. no engine work, 1 track,normal wear items. Owned it since 1000mi and son is still riding it.always used polaris blue oil still 120# in both holes.

2001 ZR600 EFI LE, was my best sled ever. 6300 miles when I sold it. All I ever did was put new 1 new set of plugs in it at 3500 miles, and a clutch rebuild kit in it at the same time.

03 yamaha viper 10,000 miles and just now had to change the hyfax. Still looks like new all nrthern mn riding

My wife's 04 Ski Doo 500ss GSX has just over 12,500 miles other than dealer maintenance needed new spring. My 05 Ski Doo MXZ 500ss has 9,400 miles replaced two springs ( I weight more) and the manifold. Other than that normal dealer maintenace. Do I win anything?

For what's it worth sold Polaris 01 XCSP 500 7,615 miles, 02 XCSP 500 8,123 miles this winter. Then traded in Polaris 98 Indy Trail 8,715 miles got a 2010 Ski Doo Renegade 600 etec. All Polaris sleds had trouble free miles.
