Stoughton, Wisconsin: Home of the Coffee Break & and a huge Wooden Ski Jump, when I was young

The coffee break is said to have originated in Stoughton, when the immigrant men became employed en masse at T.G. Mandt's wagon factory, leaving their wives to fill the shortages at the tobacco warehouses, who agreed to work under the condition that they were allowed to go home every morning and afternoon to tend to chores and, of course, drink coffee. The city of Stoughton celebrates the coffee break every summer with the Stoughton Coffee Break Festival.

My parents live a few miles west of Little Chicago. The foot race hasn't happened in many years. I think that the Marathon Lager is brewed in Wausau these days.

Your pronunciation is right on!

YA Nailed that one Erza. The only thing you missed was it is the last stop for the MTC bus route (Dump em off in Mound).
but dont forget I am and will be paying for a 6 level parking ramp that less than 20 people use to take that bus that runs 4 times a day for the next 30yrs.every town of 6000 people needs a parking ramp come on we have a true value and a drug store with in walking distance.
and you may not believe this they are talking about building another ramp just in case if in 60yrs a business may want to build in a town surrounded buy road restrictions every spring .
I usualy just tell people I live on the west end of LK minnetonka.

Wow we just got a Hallmark store. Actually we have a Meijer store at edge of town, if they don't have it then it can't be bought!

MOUND (Most Of Us Need Drugs)

Been told that by a number of residents, I'm just happy to be a bit South of ya off the South shore a mile!!

Interesting on the square miles ratio too.

I wonder how many roads are on maps that are now in the lake???

I can't call MOUND my home town but have lived here since 92'. I tell people that I live on the west side of Minnetonka and live in a town that has driven 4 huge companies out, has 4 roads out of town and 12 police officers to patrol it, and has had a couple celebrity's that no one remembers!!! I agree with you about wasted money for developing a downtown on a marsh portion of Lake Minnetonka. Some people sure have some wild dreams. BTW I lived in 14 towns before I graduated from Highschool so I have "No" or "14" hometowns. Either way is fine with me.
