Long live all four brands

I have never understood why people are so hung up on who sells the most, what country something is manufactured in or the whole brand loyal thing. People need to have a choice in products because one size doesn't fit all. Buy/ride whatever fits you or your riding style best. People vote with their dollar when they buy a certain brand over another. The weak minded only buy Ski Doo, Arctic Cat, Ford or Chevy because Dad or their friends only drive that brand. Long live all four manufactures, they each push the other to make a better product.

Amen to that. Wouldn't it be sooo boring if everyone had the same sled?? I don't like when I see my exact sled on the trails.

not sure the #2 is a tough deal . poo has a lot of other things to fall back on cat is and has always been sleds the cat atv side is junk and they know it.
with the buy out it is a tougher call . before buyout I would put my money on cat building sleds longer than poo only out of sheer stubbornness and nothing else to fall back on . scaled way back but building .
still a few more bad yrs and I can ez see only 1 left and a very limited run out of 1 or 2 others.

If you had read the whole statement and put some intelligent thought into my statement, maybe your reply would have come across as something above the 5th grade level. The vast majority of snowmobilers these days are sheep and can't look at OTHER snowmobile manufacturers because there family, friends or media tell them this is the brand to buy. I would be willing to bet you're one of them SLACKER:onthego:

We is agreeable. I love my Yamaha 4 st and Poo AXYS 800 for different reasons. i might be getting older but never stuck in the mud.
no worries for me, my kids or grandkids if we get down to only one brand in 10 years.....I own 2 Yamaha 4 strokes......We be all set.

Im thinking the answer for the next few years are limited OEM builds very possible for Yamaha to stay in rather than end it all. Yamaha seems very happy to be profitable on their small market share... maybe just be good at what you do is their mind set?

I was just thinking the same thing...and I realized yesterday I didn't get one mile on the red one this year. Zero on the 2 up too. Nuts. Sucky year for me, scheduling and weather not lining up with my windows of opportunity. Putting the sleds away this weekend. Tucking the trailer into storage. After 8 long years I finally got my 1983 SS440 Yami back from being fully restored to better than factory condition and only rode it from the trailer across my driveway and into the garage.

Oh well. Next year is going to be awesome!! Final answer and I'm sticking to it.

Lube those trailer wheel bearings you will need to it to chase the snow.
I live in Green Bay, WI and got 1,100 miles (not that great) and rode once out of Townsend, WI otherwise I had to keep driving to Houghton to ride.

It will just be 'Doo and Poo. Maybe Yami will put 4 strokers in Poos when Textron pulls the plug.

I agree Grub, 5 years max, Poo and Doo will be the 2. And if Poo puts an Apex, Nytro, or Viper Yami motor in an AXYS chassis at about 520 lbs., it will even up market share between the two.
If Doo beats them to the punch, they could drive Poo to a bit player.

I think two years is closer. Once Textron figures out what a money pit they have bought it won't take them long to phase out sleds. At that point Yami will use up whatever they already have made and that will be it. And I totally agree with you on Yami motors in Poo frames. It would be killer.

To my understanding a 3 cyl 4 stroke will not come close to fitting in the axys chassis, let alone a 4 cyl.

Same with Doo's G4....they will need to make a wider gen 4 chassis to accommodate the 4 stroke line.

Reason this ALL makes sense with what Kip said about Doo having the deal ready with Yami, is they were playing CHESS, while the others play checkers. They planted seeds for years down the road, and may have cornered the market with that proposal. I kid with the Yam 4-stroke riders, but I know from experience those ARE the best motors in the business, and 4-strokes aren't going away.
