Congrats on new truck you'll love it! Have '12 eco Lariat and extremely happy with it.

. One note to make: when you get the truck, in the glove box / center counsole there will be a fuse. Put it in the far left fuse box slot (under hood). This fuse is for accessory lights when trailer is connected. Not sure why Ford leaves them out. First time you hook up and plug in you would think your interior lights don't work any more.
Yes 30 amp fuse goes in slot #21. Then pull relay in slot #9 and make a jumper. You'll then have power all time and won't need truck running to have lights.

Unfortenitly my truck came with neither, I spent 40 minutes at dealer trying tell them what I needed.

Thanks for the tip on the jumper, I have not tried that.

So by putting a jumper in place of a relay you want an unprotected circuit? Not a good idea.

Is there a safe way to have lights in trailer without placing this jumper and not having the truck light on ? I have not tried anything yet, but open to what is the correct method.
