Looking at a new truck...

Looks sharp, just for the record, I have an Undercover on my F-150, sometimes I stand on top of it. Good product, I know after I paid for my rig, modded it out with tires & rims ( summer & winter ) tires, did the Rhino lining, put an Undercover on , and then the Vent visors... I was about tapped out. I did like the Bed Rug, with the ford beds I think I had to have a different tail gate seal installed to prevent the snow dust from creeping in. Just a thought.
I did the tail gate seal by Tuxedo, is a good seal, and easy to install on the F150. Ford tail gates are probably one of the worst for letting in dust, snow ext if you do not have a seal. The A.R.E. does not seal good at the bottom of the back flip up window along the tail gate as I would like, so going to be looking into an aftermarket bulb seal.

OK so I picked up the truck after having the A.R.E. topper, Bed Rug, and Swing Case installed. I love the Bed Rug and Swing Case The A.R.E is a nice fit, but the paint match to the new 2013 Tuxedo Black is kind of, well I don't know. If you are right up close they appear to be a good match. Then when you see it at different angles, the topper looks like it does not have as much metallic as the truck. Love the fit, it has no wind noise and helps with Fuel Economy at least I think. Truck was getting 17.5 before the topper, and yesterday drove 200 miles, and had 18.6 Mpg when I got home. I don't know how much was still getting better from break in as I only have 1200 miles so far.

Over all I am happy with the topper, I like that I can keep my large tool carrier in the box. I could not do that with the Tonneau covers. I really like the remote lock option of the Z series. Only Con: As I said depending on what angle you look the paint may not be exact match.
I do not have the need to haul anything large in this truck, so limited height will not be a problem. They would not be removable it you had to you could but the wiring ext would be enough just to use your trailer to haul the big stuff.
Good luck with what ever choice you make. Undercover is good and a lot less expensive. My total cost was just under 3K for topper with power lock, front tilt sliding window, power lock, swing case, and bed rug.

Note, after discussing the paint match with the dealer, he said A.R.E. has a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee. Then we took the original fuel door and held up to the topper. The angle surface is what makes it look like it does not match. They are exact match, I would not send the topper back to have re-painted. Just thought I better share what I learned.

I do see what you mean about the paint, but over all it looks great! I plan on the bed rug too, I have a DeeZee bedrug knock off in my current F150 it was $200 cheaper at the time. It is all most the same but it comes in panels. Not a problem for normal use but the tailgate section has to be removed if you take off the Tonneau cover. Or at least I take it it off, its just velcroed on. I like the one piece of the bed rug much better. Thanks for sharing I'm still leaning towards the Undercover, but still not sure yet.

We had the first oportunety to tow with the 13 Ford Ecoboost. Wow, I am soooo glad I made this choice. I was so impressed with the trailering a two place inline. The power was suppurb, the handeling was perfect, the braking was so improved from my Chevy Avalanche I believe my old controler had to have been bad. Over 400 mile, and the average Mpg was 11.5. Better than I ever got towing with the Avalance. Current miles on Ford at 2,300 and when not towing, getting 18 mpg pretty constant.

Well my new RAM came in last Monday, April 22. If you did not catch it in my other post, I had to reorder the truck b/c the shipping company totaled the passenger side of the first truck, $3,000 to $4,000 in damage. I of course said build me a new truck and had to wait 4 extra weeks. But after almost 2 weeks 600 miles I'm very happy! So far the mpg just keeps going up, I know that won't last but nice to see as it gets broken in its getting better. So far I'm at 16.2mpg for my average with the around town stop and go killing me but at 65-75 on the highway I can cruise with about 27mpg.
Thanks for everyones comments above. oh and for the Ford guys rest a sured I'm catching lots of **** from my friends around here about jumping ship. But with the deal I got and a Lifetime Warranty (bumper to bumper - mines most wear items) I could not pass it up. Lastly, I have add a few add ons like, the undercover, Mopar Bedrug, and some husky liners. With a few more to come in time.

Here are a few pictures of the outside

I think so, the the other numbers are matching what I putting in the tank. It does have an 8 speed trany and shuts down 4 cylinders as needed and has active air vents in the front grill. All things that say help with the MPG's.

Attact_o6 That sounds nice!

So I was driving home today a decide to video the fuel economy of the truck, so you could see what I talking about. I did not want to mislead anyone.
This picture is of my Trip A which was reset last Sunday when I filled up:
IMG_20130509_181300.jpg

Total milage on the truck is 989.9mi.

Here is a video too: You will see my average MPG in here is 17.3 I took the above picture once at home. Also the average here is a little less b/c it has not been reset. It is the average from 0mi.

2013 RAM 1500 Sport 5.7L Hemi/ 8 speed MPGs - YouTube

You can tell where I'm driving with the flow of traffic and where I go to pass and get on and off ramps. I was in the left lane and only had 2 people pass me during the video. You will also see my right turn signal come on when I'm getting off on the ramp. The highway I'm on is 6 lanes at this point 2 for the ramp I'm getting on to. So this I why I was saying I'm getting 25-27 mpg on the highway. Either way I happy with what I'm getting.

"GM builds great trucks too and are on a par with any others regardless of whether you hold them liable for the bail out and while Ford did not take money (they were in "trouble BEFORE both GM and Chrysler...so they got lines of credit only months before the big melt down of credit) Ford sat at the same table as the other two companies and was ready to accept money if their own lines of credit were used up. Nobody knew just how deep and long the "we aren't lending money to anyone" process was going to last from the banks. I believe when you add GMC and Chevy the sales numbers are close to or rivals FORD. 5.3 engine is a good one if a bit under powered and has had a pretty stellar record."

Re-typed for EZRA with permission from ME! JD POWER rates trucks based upon fewest troubles and FORD didn't make the list. Chevy/GMC and Toyota topped it. Ford builds a great truck, but so does Chrysler...times are a changing EZRA...jury is still out on your expensive FORD!
:D

All I can say is check the sales numbers!

well my 12 5.0 is now 16mo old has 29k on it tires were junk at 26k not 1 trip to dealer for repair yet just my free oil changes.
yes a dealer that had no federal board deciding if it would stay open or be shut down.
the money is bad but I can never buy a car from a corp who let the government decide what dealers could stay open and who would be shut down. kind of like if u like your dealer u can keep your dealer.
can u name any other political leaders who decided what business would stay open and what ones would be closed?
what did or do we call those people?
nuff said
my next truck will be a ford 150 as soon as they get the new diesel
unless Toyota puts one in first.
I know Fiat is getting a 1/2 ton diesel next yr but cant do it

Pulled the trigger on a 2013 F150 Supercrew Lariat loaded up. Not sure when I will pick it up yet, but hopefully before Christmas!

Here are some interesting sales figures, and increase over last year, through November of this year.

F-Series 688,810 units, up 19.5%
Chevy 437,821 units, up 19.1%
Dodge 322,268 units, up 22.5%

I was expecting a much bigger increase from Dodge with their pricing, but not much more than Ford and Chevy. If you add Chev and Dodge together, they have only sold about 70,000 more trucks! I heard on the news this morning that Ford sells an F-Series every 42 seconds. Great product.

Did you go with the Ecoboost or the 6.2L?

After talking with my sales guy, whom I've known for 20+ years and has been selling these for that amount of time, he thought I'd be better of with the 5.0L for long life and no worries about replacing turbo's etc. I kept my current truck for 10 years and 240k miles so I think it will be better for me in the long run. My 5.4L still doesn't use a quart of oil after 5,000 miles! I really wanted to try the Ecoboost, maybe next time. I hope I don't regret it.

I don't think you will regret it, as you may be aware, I have the Ecoboost, and although I love it, a freind at work has the 5.4L he purchased the same week, and so long as he is not burning E85 he gets about equal mpg, close to 20 mpg not towing, and around 14.5 Mpg towing, and we both like how they tow about the same for torque feeling of power to pass and smooth shifting. Where the differ is the Ecoboos will burn a little more fuel with a larger load like he pulls (horses), but I don't tow that large of load any more, normally a Harley Davidson in an Iron Horse enclosed trailer. You will love the plug a play nature of the Ford though, just the way they are set up with breaking, anti sway, and smooth shift when trailering. One note to make: when you get the truck, in the glove box / center counsole there will be a fuse. Put it in the far left fuse box slot (under hood). This fuse is for accessory lights when trailer is connected. Not sure why Ford leaves them out. First time you hook up and plug in you would think your interior lights don't work any more.
