Mixing two types of 2 cycle oil

Years ago I was using Fleet Farm Arctic Blue in my 1997 Arctic cat EXT and changed to Sea and Snow by the pour and go method – no problems. I was using Ski Doo mineral oil and changed to Ski Doo semi-synthetic by the pour and go method – no problems.
However, on a ATV ride I ran low on oil in my Yamaha Blaster. Stopped at the closest town and there was no 2 stroke oil available. A local offered to give me a can of 2 stroke oil he had in his garage. It was an old pop top metal can of penzoil outboard oil. I figured old oil was better than no oil so I added it to the injector tank. A few miles down the trail the engine burned up. The old penzoil outboard oil and the remaining amount of yamalube in the injector tank turned into a gel.
Because of the ATV incident before I mix 2 stroke oils I mix roughly the same amount of each oil in a cup, mix it up, and then wait to see if it gels up.

Several years back when I bought my 99ZL the previous owner was running Amsoil. I did not like the smell so I switch back to APV ran it down to a third of a tank and started refilling with the APV and I have not had any problems the sled has 11,665 miles and still running strong.

Just our in Mystic Sea n Snow and you'll never have any worries ever again.....at 1/2 the price of Amsoil.

I agree 100%. I am new to sleds but I am in the petroleum industry. People seem to want to know about oil. I guess that is why that fraudulant wannebe The Chemist received so much attention. There are certifications an oil can earn by passing a serious of rigorous tests. The most relevant certification for our application is JASO FD. Sea and Snow earned this certification. I believe klotz did as well. Amsoil did not. Their technical people give nonsensical excuses for why they didn't submit amsoil for testing but it is BS. Amsoil may be very good. But if they do not have enough confidence to submit it for certification I am not confident the product will perform as well as certified oils. Additionally, because Amsoil can be distributed by nearly anyone, there is a tremendous amount of hype and misrepresentation stated by people who are trying to sell it. I am so tired of hearing how Scamsoil is the greatest and it cures genital warts on unicorns

Scamsoil's deception pisses me off too.

From .Mystik's website :

Synthetic blend, low ash 2-stroke cycle lubricant certified for high international standards: ISO EGD, JASO FD and API TC.

See the word certified?

From Scamsoil's website description for Interceptor:

JASO FC, API TC

See how they clevelrly do not use the word certified? This is not an opinion, it is the truth. Save your money. Sadly mystik is made by Citgo, a company from a country run by a lying, socialist, class warfare inciting, dictator. At one point I would not have purchased it because of this. However, now that would seem a bit hypocritical.

Follow up from original question..........

Since I posted the original message I have mixed the two oils in question. Now have run a full gallon of the new oil through my machine. No issues. Plugs and power valves looked good. Thanks for the info.
