More ethanol woes

Don't sweat it. If you haven't had a problem yet, why change what you're doing. Keep using the seafoam and run whatever octane is recommended for the sleds. My skidoos are suppose to be run on 91 or higher and that's what they get.

Without pulling out the manual I believe mine says 85 or higher, it wont hurt anything to run 91 all the time will it?
Its a 600 carb TNT, also does 91 assure there is no ethenol? what is everyone else using in a carbed sled? And why?

Wow i love when the discussion comes up about the ethenol issue i know there has been pros and cons about this, well i have a 98 evenrude 115 intruder that is a carbed motor i know this is a snowmobile discussion but let me explain this motor does not like ethenol fuels because inthe summer ethenol has a much higher vapor pressure so when you run the outboard in hot weather and shut it off and fish for maybe 30 min and than start it back up it will misfire and hesitate till cool fuel enters the carbs,in other words ethenol gives us problems in out board engines, now evenrude which is brp now which knows this has teamed up with dupont to come up with butenol which what i have read will end all the ethenol problems so for sure they know there is a problem out here with our toys what i have read if you can belive it or not we might see some butenol in our gas in a couple of years and they can send this butenol through the pipe lines since butenol is not corrosive like ethenol is we can only hope this comes to pass, some refineries are converting over already in iowa so we can just cross our fingers.

Double check the manual...unless you're gaining performance running higher octane than you're suppose to, you're wasting your money. And no, 91 octane does not mean there is no ethanol in it.

Can someone give me some advice on how to avoid these problems using the ethenol gas? I have always owned SKI Doo sleds
and never had any problems ever but now feel like I should be doing something diffrent, I have always run 85 or 87 with running
Occasional 91 should I always run 91 instead? I also run seafoam religiously and use seafoam to store, should I discontinue using this
As somone said this could be causing the problem as well? I am not very educated on this subject I guess.

seafoam contains alcohol, alcohol attracts water=your making the fuel able to saturate more water. only use seafoam in fuel that will be used in the near future, store with stabil, and yes i have ALOT of experience with all of this topic,as I do this for a living
