If the storms are always missing you...the answer isn't praying for a change in luck. The answer is to move. If you find yourself sitting in a synoptic wasteland - move out of it. Move further north. Move to the UP. Move to the Keweenaw. For god's sake - don't hope to get lucky...luck sucks. You want to get to where the storm is the default. A place like the keweenaw. Preferably above 1,000 feet elevation. That last 400 feet of elevation really matters more than you know.
I tried that years ago, but it was a no-go on the drive to the U.P. place we looked at on Chaney Lake. There is such a thing as "too much snow", and the Kee is it. I'd never live there. ER forecast has changed to 1-3" now. Typical
