I hope you never end up making a sudden move or end up in a snow bank. your sleds will be moving. You will have much more damage to sleds and trailer if something happens.

where will they go tho if i get on the brakes?? they are packed in there so tight ive never had an issue when ive had to hammer the gas or dynamite the brakes. and even if i slide sideways into a ditch they are tight to the wall and basically tight to each other, If the skis were tied down the *** ends would still slide into other sled

Go ahead and put her in the ditch sideways once. I don't think you'll like the outcome. I saw an open two place with the skis clamped and the rear ends strapped last winter and neither sled stayed on the trailer after the truck went into the snowbank. I'll take the little bit of time involved and tie mine down everytime. I don't much like gouges and scratches that can be avoided.

I had a friend get a ticket for unsecured load on a landscape type trailer. Cop just happened to come up on him and noticed his zero turn mower wasn't tied down. Those thin aluminum studs and skin on todays trailers will be no match for several sleds that have a little force behind them.

Im not arguing with anyone or saying i wont tie them down if i have a doubt but honestly havent had to ever worry about doing it. Im working on it right now setting up cabinets and trays and actually going to be throwing Etrack down the lenght of the trailer for tieing down the ATVs this weekend so if it makes you guys feel better i could throw a ratchet strap on the sleds lol

your talking about open trailers, I always over tie stuff down on an open.

I was referencing the Cop incident only cause he could see the load. Wouldn't it be the same if a 500lb missile come tearing out the side of the enclosed trailer?

I think if a Sled is commingle out a
Wall made from 1.5 in alloy tubing every 18in u have a lot more to worry about than a snowmobile sounds like the kind of wreck that u get a dirt party from or at min a few weeks in intensive care

I dont see how a sled could ever get enough momentum built up to blow through the trailer when they are packed like sardines in it....Yes i could see if you had 1 atv in there and you hammered the brakes she mite put a nice outward dent in the trailer but no way would a sled be a missle unless you have paper sides and its on rollers

The momentum is the speed you are going. So you have 4 sleds lets say 2,000 lbs. and now you stop your vehicle or trailer very suddenly. The 2,000 lbs is still going and a trailer wall is not much to stop a 2,000 lbs cannon ball. in the end you may have 2,000 lbs of junk inside if you are very fortunate.
I worked in crash safety at one of the big three I know what to expect in a crash. Lets just say if you are in the front seat and you hit a large tree at 5 MPH even if you know its coming and you brace yourself you will eat the dash no if and or buts.
