As I posted in a thread about the Milwaukee show, I planed to buy a lift when I went to the show but my wife came with and gave me the "you don't need one of those" looks.
Well I still looked at them when I was there and really liked the ones made by a guy named Joe Wipperfurth who started a company called Ground Up Lifts. They aren't the cheapest (like the ones on EBay), but they aren't the most expensive either. He is a great guy that is carrying on with the skills his dad taught him, and is even working out of his dad's old shop in Sun Prairie WI. His dad passed away sometime ago (I don't remember exactly when he said) and it took a while for him to come back to the shop but now he has come back and is making some great lifts. The Milwaukee show was his first time at a show and he hoped to sell enough to cover the booth fee. Not only did he do that, he sold everything he brought and came home with orders to fill! He told me he canceled Novi because he needed to spend time building lifts to fill all his orders and didn't want to get so far behind that guys would get ticked of at him because things were taking too long. He puts out a great product, really nice welds, good wheel kits, square/straight frames, and everything is powder coated in one of about 10 or more colors (some neon or metallic colors cost a couple bucks extra) that look great.
I called him on the weekend of the show and ordered mine to pick up this month. When I went and got it (he offered to ship it pretty cheap but I wanted to get it myself) we sat in his shop and talked for a while. He does a little advertising, but not much, has a Facebook page and just started a website. I told him about John's site so maybe he'll show up on here sometime, but I wanted to tell you all how great the lift is. I couldn't be happier and it works perfect! If you're looking for a lift I'd get a hold of him and talk over stuff with him, he's a great honest unassuming guy that has some real talent. Here is his info https://www.facebook.com/Grounduplifts http://www.grounduplifts.com/
Here are a few shots of the lift and my sled on it. I didn't have it all the way up when I took them, but it does go the rest of the way up so everything is straight up when it's in it full upright position.
