Are new sled inventories high at dealers in southern WI & IL? It has been a good selling season in nothern WI & WUPMI with snow on the ground since November.

I was think the same thing a few days ago I would guess good start to the season but probably slow for the last two months. Might be worth doing some shopping.

all the dealerships I've been to in the last month had a lot of sleds on the floor. New one's all over craigslist. I heard Spring order was good from last season, but floor models had to be a hard move this season. Probably be decent discounts in March then in fall for 15's

Hello,
It seems Polaris has oodles for sale, I just saw a dealer in Green Bay had 2015 600 Indy's for $6,150 and 2015 600 pro s for $8,995. And that is with no set up and extra fees except reg and tax. Minnesota dealers have ads up similarly too.

Sounds like plenty of 15s down south ...I wonder if Regional Managers will ship inventory north to clear out?

No doubt they probably move some if they brought them up north but this late in the season don't see a lot of movement unless someone wrecks or they start cutting prices. 2016 coming out soon so people going to see what they are being to the table before they shop for year old models, that would be my thoughts. Unless dealers down south have some of the spring order type sleds that people are always looking for.

It has been tough on the dealers in our area. The Cat dealer gave up the franchise at the end of January. I heard today that the Doo dealer is closing the doors. That leaves just the Yamaha and Poo dealer, and sleds are an afterthought for him.

All dealers base their pricing on the latest sales program from the Manufacturer. From there I find the big volume dealers will be about another $400 -$500 less than a smaller dealer is. No one ships for free so I would think if your local guy that gets a sled shipped north from 100's a miles away will have to pass that along.
FWIW...When I talked to my dealer in midstate WI in Feb., he said that the warehouse was empty and all the 15 Poos were at dealerships. They do move sleds from one to another when requested, but It is up to each dealership to decide.

All dealers pay the same price. There is no discount for ordering more or less, it's straight across the board. If a so called volume dealer is selling cheaper it's because he has a lot of inventory and he's willing to take a loss, it happens in business all the time. Some dealerships like to be the big dog which isn't always the smartest business decision. I've heard it a million times in my store that dealerships who order big get them cheaper and it's simply not true. Anyone who's been in business will understand this. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. We're naïve to think it's Always Sunny In Sledsylvania:) My two cents:)

Kip, If you are refering to my post, I wasn't saying that the large volume dealers get the sleds cheaper because they order more from the factory.
But when checking around, I saw that several local smaller dealerships were all at a price point like I mentioned $4-500 higher.
If I had to do it again I might try to get a local dealer to come down a bit and pay the extra just for convenience, although I am getting great service from the "large volume" guys I went with.
Unless I am a particular dealerships owner or accountant I can't possibly know what kind of deal they get from the manny.
I can only hear what I am told and mine told me he was selling the sled at "cost",.... whatever that means to him.
Between Oct and Feb. my same sled at my dealership dropped another $400.00+ due to a new manufacturers rebate offer.

To HIGHLANDER;
Blah, blah,...blahblahblaaaaaah....LOL

Pol dealer here sells way more Rangers and other 4 wheelers than sleds. Sleds dying a slow death due to many factors. Uncertain snow and high cost of new tin biggest factors. 30 years ago everybody rode and there were 2 or 3 sleds in a lot of yards. Not so anymore. Our own group used to consist of about 15 guys each with multiple sleds. There are only 2 of us left. Not many younger guys getting into the sport around here. Priorities have changed.

no idea with poo but with cat at least the way it was. u had to buy so much inventory before u could buy anything out of salvage. now days the salvage sleds are not the bargains they once were but parts and gear still are. I think some of the big box dealers make less just so they can dump more and make the cash out of salvage ? is poo 1 price shipping any place in the lower 48 also

I didn't even know there had been a Cat dealer in GF. Perhaps he should have advertised more.

I don't know about this year but I thought sled sales have been up slightly the past few years after dropping since the mid-90's or so. Last year was good in Midwest, this year good in East. Be interesting how the sales end up. With some of the deals I see in MN right now, I wish I could swing a new sled this year.
