Blackhawks did it into the big game. Tampa and Chicago, not the match up I had picked at the top of The Cup Playoffs. Lightnings been playing good, but being old school, I wanted the Rangers to make it to the finals. I still have issues with warm weather hockey teams. Just can't get my head around it, the expansion into unconventional markets. Good thing in the big picture I suppose, getting exposure to fans that may have never enjoyed the game until it came to their area.

Does not get better than that game 7. Even with the lead they had I did not feel safe until the horn blew at the end of the 3rd.
Another Stanley Cup Final Series. Its almost become the norm in Chicago. I hope people realize how difficult of a feat it is to be in the hunt year after year.
This is magical stuff we are seeing. Many fans of teams never get to see their teams accomplish winning a championship in their life times.

Tampa - I grew up just South of there. Venice. Maybe 5% of people there are from there. Rest are transplants who are older or just sick of the cold.
Go to a bucks game when playing the Bears. Or devil rays whitesox game. Lots of Chicago transplants.

Coming home with carry out, down 1-0 when I shut the truck off, up 2-1 when I get the TV on to watch the last 5 minutes. Way to go Hawks! Next time though let me see the goals.

Tampa came out strong. I was pretty nervous during the first period. The third period sure did quiet the fans.

Even series now. Whats up with Bishop, injury? Leave game for min and half, come back in and out again. Ben Bishop is an ace in the hole for Tampa, think they may be in trouble if he can't play next couple of games

All I know is the Hawks had soooo many opportunities to win that last game. Bishop was not looking great but he did the job.
Same record at this point when they last won the cup. Keep the faith.....

I think I picked the right game to go to. I will be at game 6. Hopefully celebrating a cup.

I agree you picked the right game to see in person. I hope you get to see them raise the Cup at home. Wish I was going to be there. Game 5 was good, that rally at the top of the 2nd, 8 min with no whistle WOW. Great goaltending on both ends of the ice tonight. Even though they played great, the mistakes made by Crawford, and Bishop were key to the final outcome.

No tickets to the game. But I am down here in Chi town Staying in condo building right next to the Billy Goat on Madison.
Ready to party!!! Last Saturday game was good stuff. Still cant believe Bishop came that far out of the net and got crushed by his own defense player and Sharp got a nice freebie.
Loving it..... So hope they win it at home....

Congrats to the Blackhawks, third cup for former Fighting Sioux Jonathan Toews

The last three winners and four of the last five have had a former Fighting Sioux wearing a C or an A and I think that streak will continue this year. My first choice is Minnesota, second choice is St Louis, third is Chicago, fourth would be LA but I don't think they will make the playoffs. Any of these teams would keep the streak going.

Sleep.... Whats that? hahahah What a season!!!!! Got to watch the last game with my Dad and a bunch of friends. Great time. Moments like that you just dont forget.
Free tickets are avail today at noon for the party in Soldier Field Thursday. Seems grant park is too muddy. Last one there were over 2 million people there. Sucks Soldier Field only hold 50k.
The cup has been going from bar to bar to bar to bar to bar. Not sure if any of the players have slept yet. Helicopters following and tracking the cup all along.
Its insane how many people are in to the Hawks now a days. Even black folk. There was a funny interview on wgn on the street. A black guy stated this is so nuts even blacks are cheering for Hockey!
Heard the video of this interview has gone viral. Good stuff.

It is going to be a real interesting off season. There are many contracts up and there are going to be some losses. The core will still be there.
Hope they can keep the momentum and be a contender next year. So hard with the salary cap. You would think players would be willing to work for less $ to keep the team together.
Take less from Hawks and do more commercials - endorsements to make it up.

I knew I shouldn't have bought the wife and daughter a Sharp jersey last year!

I think you are right on the cuts....and maybe even Crawford. Don't forget, they traded Antti Niemi after 2010. And I do like Darling

So much talent. It sucks they have to lose any one. Guess its what balances out the chances for all teams.....
You would think they would be willing to take less $ to keep the team together. Have faith in the Hawks management.

I too watched the rally the internet. It was streamed live in wgntv.com

My work was one of the sponsors of the rally. Same in 2013. We had the cup at the office for a day. I missed it in 2013 but going to make sure I get my picture with it this year.
Going to be sneaking my Dad in to the office too.

I find my self really missing watching hockey already. Was an incredible season.

Baseball is the current go to. Being a White Sox fan has been tough this season so far. They were looking like they had a good team this year but some thing is not clicking.
Cubs are doing well and have a lot of talent. The Cub fans are already blabbering about playoffs lol. I just say wait till September then you can talk smack.

This was a fun thread. Good posts. Peace!
