No respect!

Kris and I think they stopped at the Parkview after that. He joked about stopping but we just continued to the banquet. We should have but we weren't 100% sure the sleds we saw were them.

There are places all around Rockland/Mass that you're not supposed to ride.. some signed and some not. 90% of them are tracked up even with a sign. I'm really thinking we have about 5 more years until people get pushed over the edge and everything is strictly enforced.

Lol, I had fun reading this post. Aside from the riding on the wrong side of the corner. You all sound like a bunch of old farts.

That's why we avoid that area. Full of Posers and idiots!

We stop and get gas and get the ... out of there.

With a response like that, can I assume you are one of the idiots who ride through people's yards, and ride past no snowmobile signs, because you are not an "old fart"? Did your parents not teach you respect? I suppose they are just "old farts" too in your eyes.

I would like to chime in on this one as well, I've only been to the UP three times this year and have noticed a few things. first everyone is riding all over the place, in the woods, on roads, through the trees and on my side of the trail. I ride in front so my 13 year won't take a head on crash, I don,t think I've ever seen so many people going wide on corners in the other lanes of traffic. They are also driving way to fast, cause by the time they see me there sliding sideways and looking right at me with golf ball sized eyes. Secondly I don't ever remembering seeing so many belt chunks and old belts left on the lakes and lost clothing or plastic bottles. Last but not least everyone has got a complaint and bitching about everything. I stopped in bergland to get a part and the snowmobile dealer was bitching about the crowed he sells his products to. This sport will not survive without snowmobile'rs and snowmobiler's will not survive without the bars and land to use. Please don't threaten me with we'll shut this down or what ever, the bottom line is neither of us will make it alone.

Nope not an old fart! I do know that I have a lot of respect for those who understand that if you live in the northern Midwest you might have a few sleds go through the yard. I know that if I was an old fart and I didn't want to deal with sleds I would move to Florida. Couple years from now your post is going to read "no snowmobiling after dark it's to loud". That's when you know your a "really old fart". But common, a guy shows up at your door in his underware at 4 in the morning. You know you would have to chuckle a little bit. Or a wide open golf coarse, you can't lie and say you have not dreamed about it. As far as my parents go, I would have to say they raised a pretty respectable man. They realized that they were old farts and started going south for the winter. I remember when I was in my teens and every snow bank was a jump. Can you still remember those days? Sure as we get older we avoid more and more snow banks but let em have fun while they still can. It's only a matter of time before your sitting in a retirement village regretting you never took the chance to ride through the golf coarse just once because you had to much respect for the coarse.

I would like to comment on your comments Snojoe, but I don't think I can do it respectfully. If we ever get snow here, please don't ever ride in my county.

OK...I've held off posting this, but this thread just makes my blood boil...especially snojoe. First off, yet again the U.P. is really the ONLY place with decent snow and everybody is there. It's just the way it is... But if I've seen this once, I've seen it a thousand times, first guy around a blind turn barely makes the turn and gives me the snow shower. Thanks. That was fun. Second guy around the turn is RIGHT ON THE TAIL of sled #1. He makes the turn too....but swings out wider and nearly hits me. OK...thanks for that too. Third sled around the turn right on sled #2's butt...ooops....couldn't quite make the turn....ooops, smashes into my nearly stationary sled with one ski fully OFF THE TRAIL to the right. $7,000 worth of damage to MY sled alone. If the guy hadn't hit me, he would have been 50 feet into the trees. Always glad to be the buffer...OK, maybe not so much. :( Oh, did I mention that my sled was brand new with 400 miles on it?

The sport is so much fun....I've been riding for 33 years. If that makes me an old fart, so be it. However, slowly but surely, the racer wannabes and those that just don't give a damn, are ruining the sport that the MAJORITY of us love and respect. Too bad you couldn't of found those guys Skylar. Somehow - someway we need to find a way to fix stupid.

Couple things for ya. One please don't let your wife and kids lead the pack! Spend the two bucks and buy a mirror so you can keep track of them behinde you. Seems like common sense to me. Two if you didnt get the memo winter is over and the next time I will be in your county is on the boat! Three I really do appreciate the comment about the people passing you, giving credit when it is due is great. I always pass in a safe manor and have lots of respect for those with the family out. Enjoy all the snow and see you on the boat. Ps...thanks for sparing me the lecture.

Steve you may have missed my post on the first page. I am against being on the wrong side of the corner.

You have an interesting perspective on things Snojoe

Not too mention some interesting spelling and the inability to count.

Behinde is a mountain on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. And a manor would be a house or a residence. I'm sure you were grasping for the word manner?

Oh.....and a couple usually refers to two or a pair whereas you were inferrring in your post that "couple" meant three or something in triplicate.

Sorry, frnash I couldn't help myself.

All I can say is wow!! Breaking out the spelling book on a few word's. I was feeling everone's opionion till the "spelling test" came back I haven't posted on this site much as you can see, but every once in a while I will read a thread. This one caught my eye, Those sledder's where being disrespectful I totally agree. Snojoe had his own thought's, I could relate to the snow bank jumping as a kid, and still today. I did'nt say driveway!! Snowbank, But if your having trouble reading a post with a few word's spelled wrong that's a little sad. We have all seen people doing stupid thing's before on sled's, wheeler's, and car's-truck's. But I really don't want to hear the " If I was able to stop those A holes I would have givin them my 2cent's." I want to read "Well I stopped these guy's for F-in off and this is what happened." For the record I have no idea who snojoe is.

Good night.

Hmm, let me get this straight.....if I lived in snowmobile country but didn't want them tearing through my yard, then I should either put up with it or move to Florida to escape it? That's some unusual logic there.

Yep, if you don't want your yard tore up from snowmobile's move to Florida. Kidding. I have a ? for ya. My three boy's tear up my back lawn from playing football, soccer, and baseball, where do I move to??? lol
