I hope he wins! Takes his new sled out, tears up the trails, stands up when he rides, flips off groomer drivers, doesn't give hand signals and last but not least. Runs Sea & Snow. What a bunch of grumpy old men.[/QUOT

Impressive post this turned out to be! Best of luck on a cool contest. Some of you must have forgotten what the ride is all about. Best of luck and keep on riding.
Takes balls to come on a forum and ask for votes!

It amazing how some seniors view things these days, and wonder why this site has so many smart azzes. Heck the one guy trolls around here looking to belittle people and mods still allow it.

Mr. Reality Check here....what I've seen scrolling though here is pics of sleds jumping over each others. Yep, JUST the kind of promo the sledding industry needs more of. God the "anti's" latch onto this sheet and run wild with it.

Sorry 06. you wouldn't have gotten my vote even if I had wanted to vote, which I didn't. To me "snowmobiler of the year" is just like "groomer of the year"....how the frick can just one person win it?

BTW - I vote for sweeperguy for SotY! Any guy that follows me around all day should be the SotY!!! harski or Vladimir too!

I'll vote Sweeper too. Maybe GD will offer up Angry Bird to you for winning! :)

As far as as this contest goes, rip on Doo and SuperTrax for not setting better parameters for qualifying participants and/or a better title. 06 has passion like most of us and just entered to win and asked for votes. BFD!

Good luck 06!

This is a contest where somebody wins a sled. Ski Doo ,Supertrax and a few other company's get tons of advertisement and promotion ,for very little investment . Every contestant post a link to their social media and sled sites. Get over your selves, the man is trying to win a sled and the peaple running the contest are trying to sell a product. Maybe next year the prize will be a snow bike for the top sledders . I will be back, need to whip up some pop corn.

If it were up to me, I would not have the "contest" named "North America's Top Snowmobiler" either. That's all it is...a contest. It's just like any other contest, which I am sure every single person on here has entered at least one before. All it consists of is crossing your fingers and hoping you win. That's all I did when I entered this contest. Did not think much about it and hoped for the best. Heck, might as well win a brand new sled instead of pay for another new one! I am sure everyone can relate to that.

If you have a problem with it, then I am sorry to hear that. Quite the responses from some people on here...and they want to call themselves "snowmobilers?" Myself and most of the members on this site would agree that we don't need that kind of negativity towards the sport. I don't care who you are, or what you do...if you are a snowmobiler and love the sport then why bash another individual who loves the sport too? It's a CONTEST, that's it. Plain and simple. I was just fortunate enough to make it this far in the CONTEST and am excited for the opportunity!

As for the people who realize it's just a contest, I appreciate the support and votes. Maybe some other people who sit on here all day and talk down on other snowmobilers will realize that as well. If not, they don't belong on a snowmobiling website like JD...

FYI, I am the one who gets angry when people don't use hand signals and don't slow down for groomers :)

some of the responses from some of our "elders" on this site then are the same guys who come on here and complain and question how they can't get any new "blood" to join their club and help out with trail maintenance.

HMMMM???

Well I don't consider myself a "JD elder" but somebody has to stand up to this comment.

I have never myself witnessed this rejection of "new blood" that's mentioned so much here. In the 30+ years I've been a club member, including joining several new clubs, we have welcomed new members with open arms. I myself have been welcomed in more than I can count. Yes, as soon as I say that I'll work on trails and are an experienced groomer driver, that helps. But I've never seen this "rejection" that others mention.
