Crazy World~
Drifty: LOTS
All of the footage seen on television comes from the conference room just down the
hall from my locker room. I had the day off yesterday. (thank goodness) but I go in for
a 12 hr shift tonight. Should still be crazy with all the media vehicles parked there.
For those of you who do not know,...
At Marinette High School yesterday, a 15yr old sophomore asked the teacher if he could
go to the restroom because he wasn't feeling well. He returned with a backpack and in it, he had a .22cal. handgun and a 9mm handgun. He then held the class hostage.
When the students did not show up for their next class, THOSE teachers became suspisious. Somewhere in that time frame a note was placed on the outside of the classroom door, notifying students that were to be in that classroom,...to go to the library,.. Somewhere in that timeframe, shots were also fired in the classroom (supposedly at the projector that was being used). He (the abductor) let 5 kids go early on, because they needed to use the restroom. SWAT teams were sent up, from Green Bay, and along with area law enforcement agencies,.. the scene was handled very well. The incedent ended last night when a team of officers entered the room and the young man shot himself.
He was taken to the local Marinette Hospital and later taken to Green Bay. He is reported to be in Grave condition. All the above information is what I gathered from local press conferences. It is all over National news now.
Very frightening. Those 23 students must now go through councelling and such.
I know that "I" would have been one freaked out parent if MY child was in that situation.
One thing that really pizzes me off,.. is how rumours and lies quickly spread via all those damn social networking devices. Sad,... Very sad.
I now have heard that in a school (Just 18 miles north of Menominee) there is a bomb threat. What is wrong with these kids? Not funny.
I know it will be crazy at work tonight. UGH!
Prayers go out to the families of all who were involved,... and a HUGE Thank you to those
Officers and officials involved in resolving the situation. And how about the TEACHER? man, she did a heck of a job in the situation.
Well,...
back to putting up the Christmas tree,... as I watch it pouring rain outside.
Later~
