I had sold my "vintage" Alpine the other day (which is cool,... and the guy loved it),....
and I have been in the market for a 1969-1972 (Polaris Mustang or Arctic Cat),....
And I have been "eying up" a 1970 Panther that was Awesome Cherry Condition,...
So,...
I make arrangements,...hook up the trailer and head down to Green Bay.
I was as giddy as a youngster at Christmas!!!
Sure enough,... when I get there,....There she sits! Looks like the day it came off the
assembly line! I think to myself,..."Vin,...tomorrow you'll be riding this all day with a million smiles"
So,...
After checking how Awesome condition Every single thing was on the sled,...
I says to the guy,..."OK,... show me how ya get her running",.......
Uhm,.....After futile efforts to keep the 303 Wankel chugging on its own,.....
My dreams puffed out like bad dirt in the carb.
If I am going to spend the dough on such a nice sled,.... it has to run.
He extremely appologizes,...(was a real nice guy by the way),.... and felt bad,...
but I just felt like it would be a bad idea to maybe offer a lower price and hope a buddy
could make it run right.
Oh well,....
Back to Craigslist!
