Truthfully...it's very doubtful that will happen.... I'm shocked they closed them (with all the pressure from the Minocqua businesses, and media)As far as I know, this is the first time Oneida has closed with the option to re-open. Good move
I voted to NOT open them at all....IMO they should not have been open in the first place...they was little to no base to begin with...but the almighty dollar wins every time...hopefully they don't learn a harsh lesson when some land owner starts shutting down trails for good, because there is damage to his property. I don't want to see that....but it's a very real possibility.Idk so complicated and political to open maybe better to say not rideable for snowmobiles bare trails waiting for snow than to close.
fingers crossed we get a good dumping of some wet snow in the next week or so, never got up your way this season which bums us out. Spent a week in Mercer and a couple rides here in wood county so at least more than last year. Hopefully mother nature won't be so stingy with the snow next year!Truthfully...it's very doubtful that will happen.... I would laugh if I saw anyone riding up here right now even if they aren’t officially closed, sunny and 39 today.Mercer is also closing tomorrow....and now Vilas County while not closing is advising to NOT ride...Iron County doing the same
I believe it you only had 8 in. 10 tops on the ground.Put a knife in it...it's done...I can not believe how fast we melted down the last 3 days....even my local ditch trails are unrideable...roads that had some snow cover Saturday, are completely bare, puddles and slush all over the lake (the lake isn't fun to ride right now).......the Hiawatha railroad grade has ZERO snow on it...even if we got 12 inches of wet heavy snow..you'd be down to the rocks in no time (maybe 4-5 riders)..there is ZERO base out there...I hate to say it..but I think it's OVER...no way to recover from this warm stretch.....it killed it
I was actually hoping the same down here too, got to shop around 6 a.m. the day they opened and by 11 a.m. they were toast, didn't close till following day, I am hoping there aren't any upset land owners down here as result of. I just shook my head heading home from shop that day, couldn't believe it, yes we had about a foot of snow but there was no base, there was absolutely no moisture to the snow and it got to mid 30's the day they opened.Truthfully...it's very doubtful that will happen....
