Phil can say what he wants, when he wants. He did! Anyone who doesn't like it doesn't have to... But those who don't see it's all about the money, just wait and watch what happens!
it's all about the money to A&E, they will try hard to keep him, Phil will not compromise, at least I hope he doesn't

Phill already compromised, when he hoared out his family to a TV network. That's my take anyway. I could be wrong?

Are you guys implying Phil is doing something wrong by making lots of money? How much money means he is doing something wrong? How much would you approve of before you label him as a sell out?

What I'm saying, is Phill Robertson's views and statements need to be taken with a grain of salt, along with A&E's respose to them.

A&E has not stopped running episodes of the show since this story broke...hmmmmmmmm

your right, I wouldn't underestimate the Robertson Family. They do have a contract but the kids say without pops their probably done, not sure how all that would play out no doubt will be interesting to see.

Isnt it crazy that Phil Robertson is getting all this scrutiny? Anyone remember the TV show ALL IN THE FAMILY? Good 'ole Archie Bunker would say all kinds of things about Jews, Catholics, races of people, etc. and that was just fine! A sign of the times ladies and gentlemen.

looks like A&E compromised as suspected. Phil never retracted his statement and earlier stated he stands by his statements. However, he regrets the course language he used (probably the vagina and anus comparison) and also how the article in GQ was misinterpreted.

One thing I have learned after all this is how many people believe that Phil or people like Phil are ruled by money. It seems like many are incapable of believing there are serious religions people who stand firm on principle and do not waiver. I understand this but it shows how far a decline we have come as a nation. Phil's kind are a relic or fit in a small minority, now looked at as oddballs or radicals.

Myself, would not choose to use a crude analogy, as true as it may be concerning vagina and anus, for the general public worldwide to see. However, I do hold to the same consistent, traditional views many Americans still hold today. Gay people are still being discriminated or treated poorly because of their lifestyle,,, and that's a shame as they deserve the same respect as any American.

Radicals on both sides of the issue of the gay debate need to relax and try to understand and make changes but never and I mean seriously never should a person be stifled for voicing an opinion.

I don' question Phil's religion, or his beliefs. In fact, I agree with most of what you have said on that point. But I can tell you that if you don't think money was part of this thing from the start, I do. I'm a German lutheran, and have been looked in this same way. Very pronounced on our views, but like you I would have used a different way of stating what he said in the interview. These people are not fools, and they know what makes money. That's what they are there for, and I have no grudge to that what so ever. But if he had said it differently, it would not have created the attention it has. I really hope you don't consider me to be a radical?

you a radical? not at all, no reason to think that. I believe the money issue is much greater on the A&E side, not that DD has a problem with receiving money but my point is that DD was not going to budge even if it meant them loosing out on the show. I do not believe the entire ordeal was fabricated for money gain although it does happen in different situations but not this one IMO. I have used the illustration before of what Phil said to people but usually close friends where there is no problems.

When I refer to radicals on both sides I mean Christian whacks who blow up abortions clinics or protest with insults and anger. The gay community also his it's whacks who are violent and strongly oppose anyone who disagrees with their position and will say or do anything.
