Maybe not completely WOT, but did about 70-80mph down the trail and then shut it down. I did not look at the top of the pistons. What should they look like?

SD-when I talked to Nate at JS about my set 410,45,.8 I asked him about keeping the needle in the stock position and his response was yes, stock #3 position with washer under the e clip. You could try playing with the fuel screws a little more or moving up to a 410 main and see what they look like.

I had a IQr with a fusion 06 600 motor. 410mj was too rich still. i did 400mj and 35 pilot with the clip in #4 hole with NO Washer for colder days. The needle setting more affects trail speed (midrange) so main jets is your top end WOT as rp7x stated for checking plugs. the pilot just is basically your idle circuit. Fuel screws were 1.75 turns out i believe. Also make sure your carbs are vented to your airbox when you reinstall. that can cause rich running when it gets warm. .. Every sled and rider is different but good luck getting it fine tuned!

Thanks for the tips. When I replaced my Jets I discovered that I already had a 400 main in. I did put the new one in, but it was the same size jet (400). Basically I need some snow so I can do some runs with it and see exactly where i'm at. Like I said it's running great, the plug color just made me nervous.

Went in and checked the needle setting. It was at the #2 position w/washer. I changed it to the #3 setting w/washer. Question, if you don't use the washer, what do you do with it? Put it on top of the clip? Headed up this weekend and we'll see how it does.

SD-how did she run?

Almost forgot to report in. Seemed to be running good on the trail, but maybe a little sluggish in the mid. It was also warm...upper 30's. I randomly checked the plugs on the side of the trail and they were a light tan. I also did a high speed run and they were the same. We got off trail and the 1/4 throttle was terrible. After riding at a slow pace for a bit, then crack the throttle and all it would do is sputter. The next morning I put the clip back to the #2 position and left it there and it ran great. I never did check plugs after that.

Thanks for the update. I haven't had time to change over yet but it seems like your set up works. Where did you end of up with the fuel screws.. 1.25-1.5?

They are at 1.5, but i'm thinking of going back to 1.25. Still loading up a little at idle, but still 10X better than it used to be.

Thats what mine is doing. If you stop at all, it'll sputter a little when you take off, but clear up pretty quickly.
