Polaris New Chassis Teaser

Pretty sure I injected the Y word that got the hackles raised, but if you go back and read or reread my post you'll see I wasn't pushing yamahas on anyone, except to say they are heavier than a poo 2 stroke and I couldn't understand why the poo faithful would clamor for a 4 stroke when Yamaha makes a great one already and if "Yamaha" on the sticker turns you off, that is your problem....not the Yamaha owners who happen to love there sleds for what they were built for, much like the poo faithful liking there purpose built sleds.

Like I said...people are brand loyal....and our sport really isn't getting younger...I know there are a few polaris owners that would buy an INDY TRAIL type sled... with a 90-110 HP four stroke.....but I agree with you...there are alot of nice 4 strokes already to choose from on the market (pick a brand...except polaris). I also can't see a four stroke in a RUSH (or RMK)...kinda defeats the purpose of a light weight..fun sled..to blip over bumps and jumps.

Haha, who's been doing the flipping out lately??? Lmao

Hey...I think I have been doing pretty well considering I have been sled less for 3 weeks....with pristine conditions right out my back door...lol....it's tough to look out there and see all that snow, and not be able to ride.....but soon....hopefully soon...she will be done ;)

I did post it...didn't you see my post?? Our annual trip to Michigan with my group of friends (been doing this 16 years)....I seized her up...just east of Kenton...she's at M and M ...getting rebuilt as we speak. I hope to have her back by sunday (waiting on back ordered parts)...and yes...you get alot of hindsight....and doubts...when you buy something different, and your old sled was bullet proof (but not perfect)...I wanted to try something different...and I did...AND while I am not happy she went down...I was very pleased with the ride, and handling...I was finally getting used to it...when it went down....it happens....I don't regret my decision...and Chad will take good care of me...he and Kip always have....not worried.

There is a new teaser on youtube. I don't have a link but search for "Polaris axyx." Looks like all new chassis, etc.

weight is everything. those that say its not usually own a 4 stroke.

yes AND no, yes to the super aggressive and no to the crusiers. I have a friend (FlatTopBrad) who will out run most any person on the trail and he will do it on what ever sled he is on, even a Yamaha. if I told you how fast he ran the 36 mile trail 13 loop he'd probably go to jail. We timed him one evening and I am not going to tell you but I would wager he will out run ANYBODY and he will do it on a Yamaha, you just have to have bigba**s and mad skills,,,,lol

Weight is a factor and more for some and less for others, to generalize it is just to broad. A properly adjusted skid and great skis will rail a heavier Yamaha through the corners and with no ski lift out of the corners, and 115 on straights, look out!

and no, I do not own a Yamaha 4s

"pride" was what kept me on multiple yamahas over 17 years. 4 different 4 strokes. Finally i told "pride" to quit "f:;-/n" with me and bought the type of sled i really wanted. New yamis, well, not really new, are out. So now im anxious to see what doo and poo come out with. I like my poo. 600 is fun. Sled is playful. Its cold at times. Like when its below 0 but its winter. Its gonna be cold. Really my hands are all that get cold
But thats on any sled for me when its sub zero.

being numb from the neck down has it's advantages.

really bothers me that you call the indy 6 playful....mine is a missle....not cold at all...unless yur my wife....please relay to everyone what sleds give you a warm fuzzy at 0 and below.

Sounds good to me, weight is one of the most deciding factors for me when purchasing a sled. Hopefully we will be able to own durable 400lb sleds soon. 2nd teaser is on youtube.

I really believe we can all blame the EPA for what we have cause we wouldn't see the type of motors we have now without the EPA added pressures. If any of the 4 would build a 450 lb 4s we would be all dancing.

I wonder how much less fatigued your friend would be after a day riding that hard on a sled that weighed a 100 lbs less? Or ifhis time would have been even faster around the loop with 100 less lbs?

great point and I agree that it would impact time and fatigue but we are talking flat out and. At the same time, how many guys ride medium speed or slow but believe the weight would be unfavorable and are still out there riding 2s, blowing up and for what? Would be nice if we all could ride all the sleds before we bought.

Polaris is talking a big game with this new AYXS sled. I think they said its as fast a super bike? Speed doesn't do it for me, im sure there are lots sledders drooling with that statement. IMO all current sleds go fast enough for my ability. 38lbs lighter intrigues me.

Polaris is doubling down on the rush, now called AXYS....still can't believe how many are hoping and speculating a lightweight fast NA 4 stroke at a reasonable price tag....doubt it can be done.
