Here's my opinion. As enough trouble as me and all my truck buds have gone through running HIDs I would NEVER and I mean NEVER consider running them on a sled. Ballasts overheating, shorting out etc. and you're screwed no lights. Try running a sled at night without a headlight. NOT FUN. stick to super expensive sylvanias or PIAA lights just my honest opinion. Don't get me wrong I love HIDs in all my vehicles but sleds are just not safe to run them they aren't as foolproof as a halogen bulb.

Plus it sucks when other people on the trails have them and they're coming at you.

Maybe I will just change bulbs or leave it alone altogether.I do enough stupid things to draw attention to myself !;)

But people in little cars don't care when you have them in a lifted truck :)

That is true...they don't mind at all. Probably why the Prius drivers give you the one finger wave!

I could care less about them in cars/trucks...just don't like extra bright lights on a 2 way trail.

You try britelites.net He is at the snow show in Milwaukee. Not HID, just a bulb you swap out and it is a much whiter light on the snow as opposed to the more yellow stock headlight.

Have had HID's for over 2 years. Problems none.

Kurt tested countless parts and picked what worked best. Lots of testing. So much that Yamaha put them in their catolog!!!
They were working on HID's for 2 stokes. So give Kurt a jingle see what he has to say.
Great product and customer service.

I think HID's are a great idea. I have a hard time seeing at night with the standard halogen bulbs. I have HID's in almost everything I own and have had no issues with any of them (as long as you hook them up correctly). As far as your comment about ballasts shorting out and having no lights at night, you can always switch to your high beams for light.

Um some sleds are have high/low in one bulb! Hooking up correctly? It doesn't take a brain surgeon to plug in 4 wires! They are not foolproof. You get any salt on the ballast they will go. We've been wrapping our fog light HIDs in plastic bags. Otherwise what I did on my first truck was mounted them all up in the hood and ran a TON of wiring to all the bulbs.

Try running a sled at night without a headlight. NOT FUN.

Back in the late 60's and early 70's our headlights went out regularly. We always loved to ride on full moon nights, sometimes even shutting our headlights off if they were working (they had on/off switches back then). We would ride for hours without lights.
