Portillos

Ten bucks for a skimpy beef, fries and a coke will do that for you! I admit, the food is good, but you can't get out of that place for under 8 bucks.

Line still goes all the way around the building. Al's beef dead, Babes dead, and the rest on 59 and 52 all dead. Portillos has the magic. Tried Applebees on W. Jefferson, same ole same ole.

Ok lets get serious now...Ill give you a place that I think you will thoroughly enjoy......http://www.merichkas.com/ its a local place thats been around forever. If you go get a poorboy plate with american cheese and grilled onions..It ain't cheap and its a little drive but it is one of the best sandwiches you ever have.

Merichka's is not anyway as good as it use to be! I live about 5 minutes West of there and usually go there once or twice a year (not by choice) and the food seems to be getting worse. I would rather have a big beef or a double bacon cheeseburger from Portillos any day.

Explains the line. Pizza tonight, deep dish from the best!

Tell me aboutb this" Cardinals liquors" we have no such candy stores in MI. They can have "sales". What a concept. In Mi. Liquor prices are the same no matter where you shop other than" Duty free" or Commissary.

portillos is excellent and fratellos in volo is pretty good as well(it used to be better imo). But SuperDawgs stinks! Its just a fancy building. Almost forgot Scooters in Lake Bluff has the best fries.

It was sad, some people look like they got there in the morning and make a day of it. The food was bland and mostly dried out, that did not slow them down. Took the guys to Portillos and they enjoyed it. Portillos even has a chocolate cake shake if you want to indulge. I passed on that. I am currently studying their business model. I see some coin to be made using it. I wonder what the employee burn out rate is?

I have a guy that works for me. This past christmas he worked nights at portillos in vernon hills just making fries. He lasted 11 days, he said it sucked not moving more than 20 feet for 4 hours at such a frantic pace. That place is always slammed busy. A little boy choked to death on a hotdog there this past winter in front of everybody, My employee told me the next day it was if nothing happened. Tradegy doesn't hurt this establishment.

When I had a house in Michigan I could not believe how expensive it was to buy beer. And it was just not the 10cent charge on a can. Cardinals liquors is not a bad place to get it. Just when they had the $10.99 30 packs of highlife that could not get any better. Forgot to tell you Babes had $1 hotdogs yesterday. Can still feel the 3 I ate in my stomach.

The Chinese place at river and 52 next to CVS has good lunch specials enough for 2 meals. If you never tried a beef role order one from Pizza for U on 52 and 59. Its pizza dough with beef cheese and whatever else you want in it.

Babes dollar dogs, you got to give me a heads up on this stuff. Feeding everyone pretty good while here. You need to stop by again after 4. (General leaves then). Making tons of progress. We are putting in long days to get up to the boat on Friday afternoon. I park in the garage at the job site, so we are here.

Long story short...I met one of the Portillo's son this past weekend at a bar. He and a buddy were planning their bachelor party and it involves renting a private jet and heading to South America. I am guessing that the hot dog, beef and burger business has been good to them!

I live about a mile away from **** Portillo. You should see this guy's house! Easily a 3 or 4 acre lot in Oakbrook. The house is huge and is pretty impressive at Christmas time with all the lights. The guy worked his *** off his entire life and is now enjoying the fruits of his labor. I say good for him.
