lots of poo riders are in to S&M I guess they should sell the mistress Helga edition. it is a good chasi ran well last yr for the most part but I would still not buy one till I see allot them still running with 7k on them.the 600 I would buy if it was 2k cheaper than a cat but it is not.I do know the new turbo cats running next to the new 800 cats in 660ft the turbos are getting their ars handed to them watched many races today the turbo in stock forum deff not a drag sled.but they both were ahead of the pro r 800 prob has something to do with the skid set up

I'd go with the poo efi. Like someone else said; unless you're a tinkerer. They say you can get more out of a carbed sled. I wouldn't want to mess around with that. Although I have carbed and cfi 600 iqs. The cfi is so much more powerful.

#'s as of a week ago, Poo, Doo, Cat, Yami. Yami is at about 10% right now roflmao. Don't have the graph saved that came out earlier this week to prove it though... The other 3 are VERY close.

Indy, PLEASE share this info. I can never seem to find this info. Thanks. Also, please let us know what time period this covers. Thanks. I can't imagine Doo not being #1 but I'd love to see this info.

Just make sure if you buy a Poo EFI you replace the fuel filter every 1,500 miles. Guys in my group have had expensive problems with those. I don't know much about Doos, but the guy in our group with a Cat EFI has about 11,000 on his with zero engine issues.

but if he dose not buy a poo his voltage regulator will not overheat and take out his ecu

Hey, my Poo's voltage regulator fried....is that common? Didn't cost much to fix but screwed up a trip. 300 miles on sled at time.

lots of guys out west were frying voltage regulators and that ended up taking out ecu.some guys actually make 12v computer fans mounted over regulator, think for some reason more common for deep snow guys

It would take me a few hours just to gather up some info to prove myself. I have no proof as of right now, but I have seen it within the past 2 weeks. I don't blame you if you don't believe me. Doo lost #1 spot last year, no new chassis and reliability issues have haunted them.

Indy are you quoting 2010 sales figures as "last year"? I don't think Poo knocked off Doo for #1 market share in 2010.
In 2011 as I understand it market share is as follows:
Doo#1
AC or Poo flip a coin for #2 & #3
Yam a distant #4

. Market share change is expected continue the trend seen over the last several years, with BRP leading at about 40 percent, Arctic and Polaris battling for second at about 24 percent, and Yamaha coming in last. The top three OEMs have been taking share from Yamaha in recent years, and that is expected to continue this year. Yamaha is suffering from high MSRPs and a lack of non-current machines following its big push last year to clean out its pipeline.

This seems about what I would have expected, just from what I see out riding (with no real data). Seems like Yamaha has lost some momentum that they had a few years back. I would blame it on the perception that the product has been perceived to be stale the last couple years. It seems like Poo has had a couple of good years though so I thought they would be pulling ahead of Cat a little now. Of course Cat does well out West though, and there are a lot of people who are hesitant to go with the new Poo rear-end and cold ride. I would expect Cat to have a good year, and Poo seems to have dialed in the new ride, so maybe each can gain a little on Doo.

High published Yam MSRP at $15K just killing them don't know why they do that when dealers will sell for $12,500. Need clean sheet light 4s sled @ $10K that fits between Vector & Apex @ 145HP then they can ask $15K for Apex but wil still be #4 for awhile but not sure Yam cares.
AC 2s & 4s new platform selling very well probably #2 & Poo expanded pro ride doing well but very soft in 4s product line with very old in tooth 4s platform put them at #3.
Doo way over due on new platform. XP good sled maybe best sled still but Doo always has new platform waiting in wings probably 2013 would be my guess but still #1 for now.

A couple things to remember is the 600 carb has DPM.(no carb adjustments needed) Correct? Also based on your statement"Current model with carbs or prior model year sled with efi" the carb is a year newer. so one is a 2012?

if it was an Etec there would be no question! In my opinion based on it being my first EFI sled. So, based on other statements once you use an EFI you will be disappointed. I have to agree but the DPM really helps. Also, Ski Doo has been on top for years as a percent of total sled market.

At this point in my life i just want a sled that doesnt need a new motor. I've cried my story before
09 800 -3 engine rebuilds and 1complete new engine. New 11 pro-r 800 late last season with 640 miles on put away for season not running right. Got to dealer this wk to check over and found hole in piston. Not a happy camper with this brand but what the heck, 600 carb xc still runs fine. Someone let me know how the turbo cat runs this year when it snows. Time for a change

I think that's why Poo's tag-line is "The Way Out." Just kidding, I ride Poos myself (just one total rebuild on my Fusion 600). I have been thinking about those 4 stroke Cats myself though. I'll be ready for a new sled in 2-3 years, just when they get that chassis all dialed in.
